Oh no Spacie! I have to disagree! I grew up with Van Halen and when David Lee Roth left I was broken hearted. Yeah, it all went to his (now bald)LOL head and he compeletly failed as a solo artist. But as the lead singer in Van Halen he was superb. It's a shame they fell out. The entire band was very talented. LOL Now I've got Women and Children First banging in my head! And it's all your fault! LOL ;D |

roth may be a sexist pig but he is a much better singer, and a better fit for VH. I have all the OLD VH CD's, only one with Sammy. That is just MY opinion, so I don't want to debate LOL |

They are gonna be here in concert in the next month or so. I'm thinking about going. I was a big fan back in the day, and I too, prefered David Lee Roths singing, even if he did come off as a pompus jerk. |

Yeah, Sammy's the man. I could nevert stand DLR with his girlie sqeals and lame dislogues interupting the song. On another note, I have to say that I wouldn't turn to Hollywood and Van Halen for enlightment. You can't believe everything you see or hear. To say the world is controlled by oil companies and old men is a very oversimplified view of the world and shows no intellecutal command of what it's meaning should be (sorry to sound so pompous). Second, the movie "Day After Tommorow" was pure science fiction and nothing more. If you believe that then you might as well start watching out for Dinosaurs in your home town (Jurrassic Park). I hope you were kidding and that you really don't contruct your world view from what you see in pop-culture God Bless |

Once Sammy came in, it just wasn't Van Halen anymore... it was Van Hagar. I like Sammy, but no one can screech like David Lee. They had completely different styles and should have changed the name, IMO. |

FIRST, the B*E*S*T thing about Van Halen is...........Valerie Bertinelli. I had a crush on her when she was on One Day At A Time and I was pissed when she married that guitar punk. lol. But about Roth, the man is a very talented showman but in real life, he's a real a__s h__e, s__t h___d, and a real idiot. Actually though, you have to realize that the group members don't have the largest pull in what goes into the videos, and in an interview, Roth did say that all those girls are simply show, and that they are all fake. They're real people, but with the makeup and body language, etc., they are basically fake dolls. As for Hagar, I don't like him at all. To me, he comes across as a less-talented singer trying to make himself bigger than he ever was so he can fit into Roth's shoes. It doesn't work for me. I don't like a single song by "Van Hagar," but there are a lot I like from the original Van Halen. On a side note, when the group played at Hershey, they parked their tour bus in the lot of a convenience store right down the hill from where I live. That was cool, but I didn't see any members. |
