Film Fans Make Bush 'Movie Villain of the Year'

LONDON (Reuters) - President Bush may see himself as defender of democracy and compassionate conservatism but British film fans have voted him "Movie Villain of the Year." The American "Axis of Evil" fighter is wooing voters with security pledges ahead of the presidential election next week, but it was Bush's role in Michael Moore's anti-war film "Fahrenheit 9/11" that won him the villainous title.

In a poll for Total Film magazine, the U.S. leader fought off competition from such well-known baddies as atomic scientist Doctor Octopus from "Spider-Man 2" and fellow Texan Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

"The overwhelming response of our readers voting Bush top villain just goes to show how frightening people found him in Fahrenheit 9/11," Total Film's editor Matt Mueller told Reuters.

"He was absolutely terrifying in that film. The infamous scene where he's informed about the Twin Towers attack while visiting a school, and sits there absolutely paralyzed, is enough to strike fear into anyone's heart," he said.

How it changed my life:

No special reason, nothing to say, just want to wish you a wounderful day.

Don't vote Bush

Date: 10/29/2004 1:13:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   Movie Villian of the year? I can just picture that on a resume, lol....
Date: 10/29/2004 1:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 13119    this may come back to smack everyone in the face, all publicity is good publicity when you are trying to get your name and face out to the world. The British can vote him anything they like but they don't vote for the president so people may vote for him just to spite.
Date: 10/29/2004 1:24:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   I think Magoo has a good point ^^
Date: 10/29/2004 2:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 17081    John Kerry better get to a church to confess his sins....and he better bring a lunch. I will be voting Bush.
Date: 10/29/2004 2:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 37101    The following post was sponsored by "Friends of John Kerry." -
Date: 10/29/2004 2:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 12072    I already sent in my absentee ballot vote for Kerry!! whoo hoo!!
Date: 10/29/2004 4:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    You may do as you wish.. but i would't trust Bush to lead my country. He may be liked in america, but he his hated in every single country in the world ( I know this becouse I live in the "outside". Not because his politic is any different than Kerrys (I know some is) but because he is not good hiding his racism and his "hidden" political or speak in public. He make him self look stupid and europe is LTBO... He isn't a good leader and he is not making the world a safer place, but just make it worse. And I hope that you all know that your vote is not going to just be about america, but it's about the whole world (think hard before voting). And I have my own "voter" in this election and he is not going to vote for mr. Bush. ----- Look for dirty tricks this time, don't let Bush win becouse he cheats again.. let the man with the most votes win this time! -----
Date: 10/29/2004 4:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    Hehe...What an honor
Date: 10/29/2004 4:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 36704    "let the man with the most votes win" that shows your ignorance. The United States is not a democracy where the President is elected by the popular vote. We are a Constitutional Republic and our President will be elected by the electoral college. Your opinion means absolutely nothing to me, I don't tell you who to elect as your President, it amazes me that people have the audacity to think they can tell Americans who to vote for.
Date: 10/29/2004 5:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    You know Base.. I don't tell you who you going to vote for.. i just ask you to think before voting.. that's the different. Well i don't hide that I'm not bush friendly.. but i don't hate people that vote for bush! If you want to vote bush... do it! but you can not say that bush did not play dirty last election, and this time you can be very sure about dirty tricks from both partys... and i am not happy about kerry eather just to say so... and my little voter is a guy that don't care who wins this year anyway.. - And you don't going to see any change what so ever i your life regarding to who is president in Norway.. And as long as you don't live outside america, you would never know how much your country is chaning thing in other countries....
Date: 10/29/2004 6:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 36704    You're not telling people who to vote for? At the end of your post it says "Don't vote Bush"
Date: 10/29/2004 6:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 36704    As far as Bush playing dirty last election, other countries sent people to watch over the recount in Florida, those countries one of which included Russia found no wrong doing, quit watching propaganda and Magoo was correct with her comment.
Date: 10/29/2004 8:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 34912    Michael Moore should get "Villian of the Year" You all have to see "FahrenHYPE 9/11". It's expose' on the Michael Moore film and it's excellent. It totally opened my eyes to what Moore is really all about. I got it at Netflix.com and saw it last night. WOW! Some parts really made me laugh.
Date: 10/29/2004 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 15621    Let me tell you something about the British and the rest of the world as far as the U.S. and the Americans are concerned. Ive known a few and my wife lived there for 7 years as well as in Germany and while the whole world likes to worry about what America is doing and what Americans are wearing or what kind of music we in the U.S. are listening to, we who are actualy living in the USA could care less what people in the rest of the world especially Britian, are doing when it comes to these things. Of course if its politics and involves the world then its news but with us its everything. When she lived there some women were talking about the USA and saying this and that about the Americans all the time, one day they asked her "what do the Americans think about the Brits" her reply was "we really dont think about you guys at all, no disrespect meant" the same with the Canadians...there all the time worried about the Americans and how we handle things and our political scene....when is the last time one of you Americans out there has lost some sleep over an election in Canada? I just dont get it
Date: 10/29/2004 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 15621    I think half the world like France, Korea, numerous others and the Islamic countries dont want Bush in because he's not going to take any crap and talk like Kerry. Look at The Iraq Deal, Time after time Saddam was warned to comply but the UN wasnt doing squat about it, heres a question for ya, if a child is sneaking cookies and you tell him to stop but dont make him will he stop? NO!, and Saddam didnt after UMteen times so when the UN didnt do something we did and Im glad we have a Prez who did what he thought was right no matter the outcome. You do the right thing be darbed no matter who stands beside you even if you stand alone.I think if Kerry stuck his tounge out it would be forked, I honestly dont think I could vote for the man if his tounge came notorized.
Date: 10/29/2004 9:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    All I have to say is, not American...not voting, not your business to say who to vote for.
Date: 10/30/2004 3:55:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    well but seens all of you live in america you think america, your lifestile and nationlism is totaly different than in other countris. and you are very dobble moral, cause you say that you don't care about the rest of the world and that you never think about us at all - but you always are out there to "help". So if you don't care about the rest of the world, get out of it... and you did not have any good reason to go into iraq, the weapons they "was going to have" were are they? why was that the most important reason untill it wasn't found? and if you don't give other countris weapons you don't need to go to war against it after.. and the country with most weapons is you... why is you the only ones that is alowd to have weapons.. and why do you even care about it, seens you don't care about others contries... to be so self centred is not something that look good in others eyes..
Date: 10/30/2004 3:59:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    Base: din't mean it that serious, wrote it most to create som reactions, and there I got some, thank you
Date: 10/30/2004 4:17:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    i just want you to know that whatever you say, your actions consern the rest of the world. and eventoug ours don't make any different on yours, you most understand that people are different from you and therefor think different from you. You are are a big country, lots of people, hig nationalism, lots of power. (And i don't talk about everyone, i talk in genereal). and my country norway, is a very small country, we need friends to save us self. what happens in the world is chaning our lifes cause we know that we don't have the power to stop a war agains our country (terorism or war)... we are more likes hobbits that really really just want to live for us self, don't mix in other peoples problems and just live long happy lifes (still talking i genereal) - but that is not the reality when we get draged into one war after an other war that we don't is supporting (still in genereal). Your politic don't change if other countries politic change, our politics change when your political change. Your presisdent isn't the president isn't of the US, he is the president for the whole world. that is why we also care about this election! So don't come with "we don't care so you shouldn't care" couse that is two whole different situations, so just open your eyes (bush or kerry friendly) and understand that not everyting is in america, don't everyone is like people in america - and that doesn't mean that its a bad thing and that we have to change!
Date: 10/30/2004 8:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 13729    Dont let Bush steal another election....VOTE FOR JOHN KERRY...........
Date: 10/30/2004 8:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 15621    http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_orbat_coalition.htm

Maybe you didnt know that little ole Norway is one of the NON-US forces in Iraq right now?

Date: 10/30/2004 8:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 62728    "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Date: 10/30/2004 1:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    great quote by the way
Date: 10/30/2004 3:00:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    I know we have trops in iraq and i know we have trops in afganistan. the reason for that is our minister that is bush-friendly..
Date: 10/31/2004 12:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 34912    Kristen, before you start looking down on the USA, I think you should ask yourself: How much did Norway five to the Africa AIDS epidemic in the past 4 years? $0? Huh, that's funny because the self-centrist USA gave over $150 billion to fight AIDS in Africa. In fact it was George Bush who made it happen. You should also keep in mind that it was the USA granted to most support to Norway during the Cold War through NATO. The USA is a commited ally to Norway. What's your problem. Stop being so self-righteous.
Date: 10/31/2004 3:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 47218    author-- ignore these seemingly arrogant remarks from other Americans. You are perfectly entitled to express your views on our leadership. Some Amercians realize that we don't live in a vaccum and how our country is perceived by other countries matters A LOT and thus welcome outside criticism-- afterall, when it comes to criticism of an individual person, it is the enlightened way to take that criticism and say, "hm? What am I doing to cause such remarks? Do they indicate a means that I might improve my current way of doing things?" So why should we run our country any differently? Furthermore, I find it totally ironic that people think that it's nobody elses business who runs our country, when we make a matter of national priority who is running other countries.
Date: 10/31/2004 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    Ummm...is this supposed to be funny? If so, I didn't find it to be, sorry. I guess you missed the role that Kerry played in STOLEN HONOR, created by POW's and not funded by any political party, a TRUE documentary showing the reality of how this monster we call, JOHN KERRY...prolonged the torture, stay and humiliation of Vietnam Vets. Or maybe you just missed that one??
Date: 10/31/2004 9:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    .....OH, and I'm definitely VOTING BUSH.
Date: 11/1/2004 1:43:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    And "you" (as the one trying to make me look like a Kerry friendly Norwegian better knower that don't know anything...yeah you!) totally misunderstand me, cause what I try to say is: you are grown up people (some of you don't act that way, but whatever) and you should have the right to vote for who ever you want to vote for! yeay! BUT you should also know that it WILL be effect the whole world who is the president of America. And it is a matter for us all. And I don't really care about whom leading, Sweden, who leading Canada, German, Thailand or what ever... But you can't say that you don't when you go to war against other countries because you don't like the way they do things. And I don't lived Saddam either, but I don't think we should go to war on personal benefits. And I would like you to know that not everyone agree to what you are doing and many people (special in the east) get angry, very very angry and desperate. And that is people in Iraq and people in Palestine. And as long as we don't live under totally dictator we can't even believe that we could know how they must have it, at all. And that you already have seen that can hurt you big time (no this is not a treat from me), and it will again and again if you don't open your eyes and see why people hurting and why you had to go trough 11/9 and not Sweden (as bin laden said him self) and do something, anything but make them more miserable, more scared, more desperate and more angry! What would you say I Europe came and invaded your country, put many of your people in prison (with lots of torture) with your president. And started to "fix" your country and making our own government and lows just because we don't live bush... (-and for all of you that is stupid enough to thing that I am fore Osama bin laden: I am not! I don't like killing innocent people just cause you don't live their are Israel friendly. And I think he is one of those kinds that have a big need to kill to get attention on problems, even though it is not his problem or concern...)
Date: 11/1/2004 1:43:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56147    I never ever said I was happy about Kerry; please don't put words in my mouth thank you. PacificSoul: people pay taxes government use taxes and oil money to research on how to stop aids; people give money to organizations that help people in Africa. We don't "have" a lot of money we must priority. $150 billion is more that our budsjett. And when did I say that we are the perfect country, I don't like how things is being done here either. I just tries to make some of you understand that when you live in a small country as Norway, you see how much everyone are a part of the world, and not just a part of a country. - one world, many countries. And the present from you during the cold world was a great thing to do: but oh what was that, I supposed I’m the only one of us to that read history about marked economic (or whatever it is spelled). It was absolutely necessary for America to make Europe back on their feet again so they could start money rolling again and that we could buy AMERICAN product: coca cola, Microsoft, McDonalds and more and more and more until we were all Americanized. And when I give a present I don't use that against the one getting the present to make them be on my side in a war again and again and again... and don't know what you call that, but I call that stupidity. But thank you for the help, we sure needed it. Mollycat: thank you I know that many of you are people that are more global than the rest of you. I have spoke to Americans before, and some of you are lost in space a just talk about America centre of the world, no my mistake, America the only thing in the world. and that never has seen a world map and can't even put France on the map, even tough it was a matter of live or death and find great pride in that. And some of you are great people. very sweet and friendly. so I don't try to talk about you all, just about some of you. You should not take this personal in anyway because you seems like you are in the last group
