Sometimes it is necessary to conform, being part of a large body of people (such as a school) is one of those times. It is impossible for any school to please all it's pupils all of the time, they simply HAVE to cater for the majority. There is plenty of time for you to explore and show your individuality outside of school, both now and when you are an adult. The fact that your teacher reminds you of your own mother is not as bad a thing as you imagine. No doubt your mother cares about what happens to you and tries to guide you in the right direction...well...so does a good teacher. Perhaps what you made did not conform to the guidelines set down for the project, marks are usually given for particular aspects of any piece of work and if you didn't include those features then it could not have gained you good marks, there is also the fact that what you find to be acceptable may not be acceptable to the majority. I feel that if you try to relax a little and stop trying to fight the system you will find that school is a much happier place to be. |
