This is the craziest thing...I can't get online with one of my computers. I'm logged onto my little old Mac right now.

Earlier this evening, I got online to our newer computer, and I decided to uninstall the Norton anti-virus, and I did. I had tried it for free, and it has been expired for some time, and I got tired of the pop-up all of time. I haven't been able to get online since. I have dial up, and it will get almost to the end of the sign on stage, and then it stops, and things go back to my desktop. I have AOL. I did call them, and I got someone that I could hardly understand, and they weren't any help at all. If anybody has any thoughts, I would appreciate it. I guess I'll have to call AOL back, and see what somebody else thinks, in tech support. Thanks!

Date: 10/27/2004 10:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 62938    I personaly don' recomend AOL, past problems.First run scan disk, then Defrag, when done shut down reboot. Then see what you have. If it don't work I'll try to check back later. Oh need to know your windows version and amount of memory you have. Hope things work out for you. Happy Halloween
Date: 10/27/2004 10:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28193    Thanks for the help. I checked about the defrag, and it said I didn't need to do that, at this time. I've had really good luck with AOL in the past. The computer is Win XP, and I'll have to check on the memory..it seemed like I had a lot left. Py..this is a stupid question..but how am I going to reinstall it?
Date: 10/27/2004 11:01:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28193    Py, I think I have an AOL disk around here some place. I'm going to go mess around with it some more. Thanks!
