I dont make nearly enough at what I do and I have always though why go to college to be broke? Do something that will make you a good living when you get out. |

I don't make a dime. I'm a housewife. But the rewards I get from it make me rich. I'm going back to college next January to finish my music education degree and I can't wait. Ir eally don't care about the money. The fact is, it is enough money to help support my family and working with kids is so rewarding. |

My personal view is that riches always do not buy your happiness. I mean no one wants to struggle right? Yet me myself I would much rather have a rewarding job that you see and know that you have made a difference. I would much rather have the rewarding job then have the $$$$ and dread to go into work everyday!! You cannot take your material items with you, in my eyes its material!! Good luck in your descision!! We ALL want the best of both worlds yet sometimes you have to sacrifice one for the other!!! (o: |

Yeah. Poor teachers only make up to 20,000 a year some states 22,000, and in alaska 30,000. Why i am not in teaching. |

Texas starts out at around 28,000 a year I believe, for teaching positions. with a raise every year. However, it is more if you go to bigger cities to compensate the cost of living. The fact is, you can survive very well as a teacher, as long as you know how to budget your costs and don't spend money on nonsensical things. |

Being a teenager, I work at Burger King. I'll put it this way, just to show how crappily low my wages are... When I work on holidays and get paid time and a half, I still only make 8.85 an hour. - |

I work as a bookeeper/office manager and make $19.75 an hour. I'm due for a raise in April. I can make more money elsewhere but I haven't found a good enough opportunity yet plus I've been where I'm at for 4 years now and kind of know the routine. |

I make 9/hr working where I am at currently. Which would be considered well underpaid for what I do. However, being it is a student job and I am a student it makes sense as to why it pays that low. -- |

I make $500 a week on the job, working only four days a week. I also am part owner of my own antiques business, and on a good weekend, can make anyhwere from $500-$1000 after expenses. I don't strive for luxuries, and most of what I have left after bills goes back into the business to keep it growing. As a teen, I worked full time, while also going to school full time. The money wasn't the best, but it was enough that I could buy a new car in high school, as well as maintaining the insruance an upkeep on it, and still had money to do the other things I wanted to do. Working as much as I did, I was still able to graduate in the top 15% of my class. |

the last "real" job I had was 11 years ago, as a bookkeeper for auto dealerships... I made a whoping $8.50/hour. I see fast food workers now make more than I did... that's what you get for being a "non-productive employee". I always hated that term... our department didn't turn a profit, but none of the other departments would have known if they did without us. I'm currently a homemaker, so I don't get any financial rewards... unless you count hubby handing me his paycheck every Thursday morning He's an auto assembly worker and makes somewhere in the neighborhood of $26/hour. It would be a really nice wage if we didn't have to deal with being alid off every other week. Unemployment only pays us $300/week. |
