Hey Guys....

First off...I need some information on the voting system in America...does anyone know how it works, because I am here in Brasil at the moment and my friend would like to try and understand how the voting procedure works like how the votes are counted and all that...so does anyone know?

Well Im meant to be typing out a voice tape....for my english teacher here however its 15 minutes long and its due tomorrow and Im too lazy to do it at the moment, so I was wondering what everyone else is up too at the moment...

Well right now I am typing this, drinking water and listening to Red Hot Chilli Peppers....

Today I tried to tell jokes, however I could ahrdly remember any...dont you just hate it when you need to tell a joke to someone and you cant think of any to tell...well I find it really annoying, so does anyone have any good jokes?

Well catch ya all...

Gazza

Date: 10/19/2004 12:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 15675    Well its a lil complicated but from my understanding people over 18 who are legal citizens and not imprisoned (minus 2 states) can vote. To vote you have to register at least once unless you move then you have to reregister. There's the 2 main canidates plus a few independent ones but Americans seem to not get that they can actually vote outside of the 2 canidates! *Anyways* November 2nd they vote, then here's the stupid part: each state depending on it's population size has so many 'electoral' votes. That means that if CA votes Kerry he'd have a lot of those but if like IA votes Bush he'd only get a few. So basically if that's the case then in IA all the Kerry votes are cancelled out and Bush wins all their electoral votes... The canidate with the most electoral votes wins...and that's not always the canidate who got the most REAL votes (Gore won the 'popular' vote in the last election.) And that is why a lot of American's don't vote!
