Successful=Happiness in my opinion not how much $ you make or how 'well educated' you are. If I can do a job I love and make enoguh $ at it to live I'm happy. Education IS important but our schools dont tend to do a good enough job in my eyes...one of the many reasons I had no problem dropping out. |

I want to be educated, because I like being smart. I like having a question asked and I actually know the answer...I also like being able to absorb new information and learn how things work. I hope to be happy and successful, and hopefully, my education will help me |

to be fair you can umm learn things outside of a school LOL! Go to Barnes and Nobles, the Library, the internet (if used right), etc... I'm learning french on my own, I'm learning about the music industry (the technical money stuff that is super uber complicated) on my own, and I've also studied world religions on my own. Just because it's no diploma doesn't mean I learned any less. |

Education can be any of that Queen..... of coarse a lot of places won't hire someone if they don't have a degree, but it depends on what your definition of success is. Success to some is to be the manager of a fast food restraunt, and success to others is to be a Lawyer, or Doctor. Some think it is to be a published author, and others feel it is to be a good housewife. |

as my fave band once said "we don't need no education, no dark sarcasem in the class room" that was pink floyd although i love those guys I do think we need to be tought some things in life. although I do belive that learning things acedemicly though schooling is not the only way to learn. learning though mistakes you make in life teaches us the best leasons in life that form of leaning leads to a happy life. for some education is technicly the key to happynes. because being succesful and ritch makes them happy for some just haveing enough money to get by is all they need to feel happy. it is a personal dission. I personly want to do something where I create, and express myself. but I still need to learn some basic things like gramar so I can write proper stories (I only learnt all that in year 11 lol) we do not need to be educated in every sense though you just gotta do what makes you happy if you like doing a jo that pays low wages than that is fine if it makes you happy. people jsut want succes because it makes them feel like their life has meaning. good points. |

education may not be the key to happiness, but it sure opens up a lot of doors. |

I'm educated, I shore aint happy though. Never really have been. But if I was dumber than box o rocks doesn't mean I'd be happy either. Happiness is just in your personality. They always use to tell me that they sold personality in a bottle, so I guess they were telling me I had none. Education has nothing to do with you being happy, its up to you as a person if you are happy or not. |

I tend to think that the happier people are the ones with control over their lives. Like-- it's not a matter of whether the thing that you're doing with your life is superior to another thing (a job that you can get with degree vs. one that you can get without a degree), but rather that you are doing that thing because you have chosen to do it, not because you were forced into doing it by circumstances. Education by nature gives you more options-- people with more options have more control over their choices, hence, education gives greater chance for happiness, but it doesn't guarantee it. |

Learning for the sake of learning should never stop in life, but after working so many years for so little money, that degree was what paid the bills and kept food on the table and left a little something for me to invest and hope for a decent retirement. No, it may not bring instant happiness but it does insure that one won't work for minumum wage, which is still below $6.00 per hour. No one can live in today's economy on a wage like that. |

Mandatory education is whats a bummer. I got Straight Fs in highschool, for example take science class. My teacher pushed my desk to the other side of the room and stopped teaching me (and a few others) and only taught the kids who "wanted" to learn. Well I knew that whole science book like the back of my hand. but i'm dyslexic so i didn't understand the questions when asked. But I knew all the answers. Because I read all the science books i had, front to back, same with math, history, english. I knew everything a high-school graduate knew, I just taught myself. And schools don't accept that so I failed. I dropped out of school and I know make more money than all of my friends combined and I am very Happy. |
