What if---- What if... Just think what if... --- RADMAN

What if, and I mean this not as a religious but more of a philosophical thought.

What if, we existed before this life. What if we were spiritual beings that have existed for eons. What if we grew intolerant of each other and became distant from one another because we were too selfish to accept any perspectives but our own. What if we needed nothing but our own selfish little worlds where we controlled everything and we did, until we were bored with ourselves and everything. What kind of misery would existence be then.

What if there was one lession that we could learn that could change existence and make it meaningful again, even wonderful.

What would that lesson be?

I'm sure everyone knows what the answer is. It's love. To learn how to love others and see their perspectives, even if they are different and to have enough love for them to respect them regardless.

What if in order for us to learn that lesson, we had to be stripped of all of our imortality, have our memories erased and be inserted into a place where we needed to communicate and learn to get along to make things better.

What if, the plan was to make us fragle so that we would be willing to give up our selfishness so that we could hold each other close and to bind our love through children, family and friends. To learn to rely on each-other and trust our very lives to others care. To realize there are other beings not like ourselves that we can share love with like dogs, cats, birds and all the living creatures. To see real beauty and kindness from a distance and feel that love in your own heart. To have examples of compassion and sacrifice to show us the way. To learn to show acceptance for others as we learned they have accepted us.

What if we needed to be injured so others could learn to heal and we could learn to accept help. What if we needed to feel the pain of our loved ones dieing so we could know how wonderful they were and what their love gave to our own lives.

What if we needed to see what bad was so we know what good is. What if we could be hurt and we could hurt others so we would learn that it is a bad thing. To know what loneliness truly is, so we could see ourselves and realize that it is not a place where there was joy. To be able to give intangible things like (love, compassion and friendship) and know that what we have given is the greatest gift there is.

What if we were driven to bond with each other so that we could bring a new life into this world and experience all the glory of the many loves a family brings and how rich life is when this happens.

What if we needed to die in this life so others could see the great gift of love that we have given them and so we could use what we learned in the next life.

What if we are those being and this is happening to us now. Wouldn't that be a great plan. What if we were not these beings, wouldn't it be a great thing know that we have the opportunity to learn those lessons anyway.

I thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow and learn from all of you. I really do love each of you no matter what your perspectives are. You have taught me that lesson.

Date: 10/16/2004 1:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    I was thinking about this last night...I was going to write a poem called Orientation, on how USM is an orientation into a perspective on how others live and believe, their challenges, pains, and joys, and how we all have so much we can teach and learn from each other. Funny, this post reminded me of that poem I didn't write. It's such a wonderful analogy Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us again. I love it when you write these kinds of posts.

Date: 10/17/2004 2:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 48809    Hi Radman.. it is nice to see someone who "thinks" outside the box... as they say! What lesson could we all learn that would change the world ? Spirit says that if we could all learn to TRULY love one another, it would change the world overnight! I believe that!
Date: 10/17/2004 3:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    Fantastic post Radman. Warning: big cut'n'paste following...but hey, why think of something to say if someone has already said it better: "1: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

2: And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3: If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4: Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;

5: it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

6: it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

7: Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8: Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

9: For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect;

10: but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.

11: When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

12: For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood.

13: So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (I Corinthians 13:1-13). Love is indeed ALL. Peace,

Date: 10/17/2004 4:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 177    We are ONE. We are part of God...we are extensions of God; therefor we are united with each other. We are each like one of God's brain cells. Seperateness is an illusion. What we do to others we do to ourselves. Best to live by The Golden Rule.
Date: 10/17/2004 5:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 48941    All I can say is wow, you actually made me have to sit here and think. I think this is an amazing post and I feel that I agree with you.

Date: 10/17/2004 10:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 3642    Brovo Mister well said well written Love is the awakening of the spirit ,it helps us to see our self's objectivly and others as well. every one of us have learned how to walk as a toddler we skined our knees untill we learned to walk right and we never stoped learning that way ,the progression of our understanding is the same as that of our natural bodies we will learn to do the right things for the right reasons using a whole range of emotions and some cause & effects that this lifes will bring us ....love, , hope, faith <--good higher thinking we will learn to be heros of our own life story's to know there is a peice of God in each of us and in all living things and to discover how that connects us all together , God greatest gift to us was free choice , and we have chosen this path of learning
Date: 10/18/2004 9:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 29928    Excellent post George! You make great points and give good reasons for why also. People sit around all the time wondering and thinking. "If there is a God, then why..why..why?" Well this explains why to a lot of why's. Without the opposites of love, good, etc. How would anyone know what those things are? Now I am just saying what you've already said, so I will shut-up now..great post. Much love and husg,
Date: 10/18/2004 12:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 14314    Wow, great post Admin!!!! (BOOKMARKED) GOD BLESS

Date: 10/18/2004 9:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    We each find meaning in life, through our love for others. There is no "what if", life becomes more precious with time, for those who live in or memory and leave their impression in our heart, and those who share this day and time and place in our life. We begin to understand how short, how much the role we play in life is ever more important as time passes so quickly and loved ones go before us. Life is indeed fragile, once we realize our own immmortality and that of our loved ones do we even begin to understand what we are here for.
Date: 10/19/2004 5:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 8024    very thought provoking ...indeed the possibilities ...
Date: 10/19/2004 6:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 19869    What if we all love you too for bringing what we probably know deep down back to the surface! what if everyone here thanks you for this great post and feels enlightened in a strange way, because love can be made by all, by a simple choice, the choice to give!
Date: 10/19/2004 3:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 12835    What if by chance I hadn't stopped by today, I would have missed some very wise words. I believe I will share this with some people at work if you don't mind my friend.....

Date: 2/7/2005 10:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 34912    hey, Radman... well, it's now past the first weekend of Feb and I finally got some time to put together a proposal or set of suggestions for changes in the awards system. I made it into a post and I hoep you have a chance to see it. My suggestions are really simple and they would really invigorate the creativity and participation fo both admins and members in constructive, positive ways. I kept the post somewhat light hearted, for the most part, but I think I kept it on track as well. I hope you have a change to see it (http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm408007.html) God Bless!!
Date: 5/4/2005 5:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 62938    Radman,you have pretty well hit it on the nail head.I believe in reincarnation amongst other things,yes memory has been stripped so to speak,and yes,the best teachings in life are those things we expeirence,where by we become intelligent humane beings in the since of life itself.A Love for my fellow man and animals has developed more over the years of living.Thanks Radman for the beautiful post.It helped to remind me.
