Totally GO FOR IT! Theres a whole lot more to learning than what you gain from a book. Studying overseas would be such an amazing experience...providing so much more all-round opportunity for education academically AND socially. Go for it. I plan to study abroad, under Oxford, during my sophomore year in college. Then I plan to go to Bonn, Germany and Madrid, Spain. I hear its a GREAT learning experience.
