Date: 10/14/2004 8:26:00 PM From Authorid: 5886 Some of the things Kerry voted for that Bush claims were "tax increases" were really bills that would set the limit for a maximum amount that could be taxed by later bills, or something like that. The bill itself wouldn't increase taxes at all. Personally though, I don't like either candidate. Both Bush & Kerry have thrown lies out against one another. |
Date: 10/15/2004 7:38:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 Sorry but Kerry did vote 96% of the time to INCREASE taxes. He also voted against the Laci Peterson law to protect the unborn and charge those who kill or injure them with the appropriate charge. This was DEFINED very well so not to effect Roe vs. Wade in any dirogatory manner. STILL...he couldn't have cared less. He voted AGAINST additional armour and utilities for our troops but in debates...he claims he would increase funding. What a hypocrite. He doesn't even pay the MINIMAL 20% that EVERYONE else does on their taxes...instead he paid 12.8% tax on 6.8 MILLION. WHAT A GUY....NOT. He is one of the most incompetent excuses for a presidential candidate since Clinton. He even stoops as low as to bring up the fact that Cheney's daughter is a lesbian just to remind the American public of that right before they're off to vote. HOW SLIMY. And lastly but only because that's all I can currently think of.....he used the debates to promote not only his website but his book. He could not pay me enough to vote for him. I respect your opinion but it doesn't change anything for me...I know what he really is and it's not good. |

Are you sure that 96% of all the votes were to increase taxes? Can you confirm that with a source? Also, of 98 votes for "tax increases", 43 would not have actually increased taxes. They were for budget bills to set target levels for spending and taxes in the coming years. It wouldn't have actually increased taxes. All the other votes, I think, were mostly for letting taxes stay the same. Again, I'll need clarification on this issue. And, about him voting against the Laci Peterson- he actually voted against another law, the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act." You can check it out at: http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx@docID=215.html. And, as I stated before, when Kerry voted for something, then later is against it, and vice versa, it's due to Bush's handling of the situation. And, about Kerry paying 12.8%... KERRY actually earned $395,338.00 and paid $90.575.00 in taxes. He and his wife have separate accounts. And, about Kerry bringing up Cheney's daughter- I think that it might have been a wrong choice to bring her into it, but I'm pretty sure that he didn't mean any harm to anyone- he just stated his view on the issue. He didn't have to bring her into it, but I don't think he meant any harm to anyone. I really don't have any comment about Kerry using the debate to promote his website and his book... you can think what you want on that. I also respect your opinion, YouChoose, but I just wanted to state some important facts. |

Date: 10/17/2004 7:33:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 Kerry and Teresa earned 6.8 MILLION in taxes last year. If they filed seperately, what does that have to do with anything? Just another sneaky tactic of theirs to allow them to pay less in taxes by using write-offs and deductions to their advantage. He DID vote against the Laci and Conner law, which is also regarding the same issue as the unborn victims of violence act...which makes him disgust me EVEN MORE. He's CLUELESS about what the average, middle-class American deals with...he's never been part of the middle-class to have a clue. He WILL NEVER get my vote or that of my family members. We TOTALLY understand his motives and obvious self-love all too well. |
Date: 10/17/2004 7:38:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 Sorry if that came of sounding a bit snotty toward you, it wasn't meant to be aimed at you. It is aimed at the fact that Kerry is not what he PRETENDS to be to the American public. He is a political puppet, plain and simple. |
