Brainbuster: Man vs. Machine.....~SpaceCase

I've been thinking about the painful truth behind the comment, "You can blame the man(Bush) for job losses due to the creations of machines that take the place of ten men."

How can we create jobs as fast as we create machines to end the needs for human employees at the same rate?

I wish Power were here to explain his beliefs about machines making men obsolete...ever-since the begining of the industrial age, things have come along to take the previous generations means of making money and turn into an industry-driven machine, capable of milling, sawing, and molding much faster than by hand.

And now our economy is hurting because of advances in technology? And we out-source what few jobs are created out of thin air, because it's so much cheaper for businesses to pay $3 a day instead of $6 an hour to the same laborer here in America.

We are giving our jobs to machines and foreigners. What type of jobs can we create here that will stay here?

Any answers?

Date: 10/14/2004 7:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 61977    I know that many companies now hire temps on, keep them for years, they cannot afford to hire people and give them the benefits. Companies have hiring freezes due to lack of funds....I know this first hand because I am one...I am so getting off my point here. Well technology has taken away many jobs. Long ago when the computer came out I was disgusted because I thought well there goes a lot of jobs, yet I love my computer now...LOL....so I see both sides of this coin.

Date: 10/14/2004 7:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53836    oh I swore I'd never get a pc 5 years ago, and now I'm hooked...And sure doctors may not be replaced, but they are having to give up their practices due to the lack of protection they have when facing law suits. But another arguement is that not everyone can be a doctor. The job that could never be replaced by machine is a mother
Date: 10/14/2004 7:48:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   Sadly, I don't have any answers to this.
Date: 10/14/2004 10:11:00 PM  ( Admin )   Men have to earn money to purchase the things machines make. It's a life cycle that leads to men not working so hard for what they get, that should be getting cheaper and cheaper until we don't have to "Labor" for it but work at what we like to do.
