Date: 10/12/2004 9:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 62401    There are free clinics all over the place. They sell prenatal vitamins at Wal-mart that are just as good as prescribed prenatals. But i think that if you cant pay out of pocket $100-$400 a doctors visit, find a free clinic, please. If you need to talk send me a message. I am preggo with my second child and can help with the symptoms and stuff
Date: 10/12/2004 9:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 62901    Sorry, I was going to suggest medicaid... but if you can't get on that.. I don't know of anything else besides getting on a private insurance plan. Sorry! ~Rachel~
Date: 10/12/2004 10:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 44321    Do you have a health clinic near you ?, most will provide you with free treatment if you can't afford any.
Date: 10/12/2004 10:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 44321    In my area we have Health Centers that provide the services, you get free prescriptions over there too.

Date: 10/12/2004 11:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 47218    I had a friend who was in similar straights-- not because she lost her job, but because her insurance didn't cover child-birth and she got pregnant unexpectedly. Hers was a high risk pregnancy and she had to have a c-section, so she had no choice but to have the baby in the hospital and pay for it out of pocket. It was a ghastly expense, but she read a book on how to cut down on hospital expenses and saved herself a lot of money by bringing her own pillows, sheets, aspirin, tissues, etc. Hospitals are generally expensive. As an alternative-- if it is possible for you-- you might consider using a midwife. You can deliver a baby at a midwife center for a fraction of the cost-- I think I saw a quote somewhere that said 3 to 4 thousand dollars.
Date: 10/12/2004 11:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 52489    Go to the library and check out books on natural childbirth, pre-natal care, health, vitamins, etc. Also, a lot of hospitals now have their own libraries where you can read about this stuff for free. The hospitals, or other listings should be able to put you in touch with midwives. Also, talk to the hospital about your situation--they should be able to advise you. Also, talk to insurance agents about health coverage; this is what they do, and they'll have access to information you don't!
Date: 10/12/2004 8:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 62915    WOW! Things are so different in the USA! All our pregnancy and birthing things are free over here. I didn't realise things were so different! I wish I could help you and as for the person who said planned pregnancy I found that to be very rude and judgemental for someone who doesn't know all the facts. Goodluck to you and I hope things go well for you Ghost-CHick
Date: 10/12/2004 8:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 62753    a change in status should make it possible for your husband to add you to his insurance ---- good luck honey! And hey - congratualtions..... everything will be just fine!
Date: 10/12/2004 9:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 58308    That does suck! Nowadays, they make it extra hard for honest people to get the help they need and deserve. Good luck, hun, and Congrats(!) on the baby!
Date: 10/13/2004 3:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 55297    Im going to a planned parenthood. But I dont know if they have one near you...
Date: 10/13/2004 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 62915    I must apologise to frobbins. I didn't know of this place and I thought he was being rude. My apologies if you were jsut suggesting this place. Ghost-Chick
Date: 10/14/2004 7:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 61795    This doesn't really apply, but congratulations on ur pregnancy, wishing you only pleasant surprises!
Date: 10/16/2004 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 13979    Go to the hospital and explain to them your dilema, and see what comes up. Dont worry to much about it, these things work out =) .. I wish you, your hubby and the BABY all the best. Be happy sweety, things WILL work out =). God Bless. -Diana aka
