It's called taking a lot of heat from your campaign for doing bad and then working with professionals to correct your demeanor during the debate. Also, Bush does better in a Townhall format so during the next debate he may slip back into some of his previous behavior. |

"though he still looked like someone disrobed him everytime Kerry blew his lies away with facts" Well, I dont really think Kerry blew Bushs' lies away considering there weren't any. I dont really see much truth in this post..sorry |

Well Base, that was how I felt at first...I said in a comment on a post Friday night immediately following the debate that Bush must've had quite a few flashcard sessions to prepare for that night's debate, but it doesn't detract from the video coverage of the wire-like bulge in the back of his jacket either. And don't worry, I plan to watch Wednesday's debate as well. But I am not fooled by Bush's 'Good ol' Boy' approach, when I have little to no repsect for the 'good ol' boys' of our (Bush & my) homestate. They are the most corrupt, untrustworthy group of corrupt men in this country. Kerry has made quite a few promises to return to us the America we have come to love, and return us to the safe place Bush has drug us away from. |

Bush, like a broken record continues to defend his stance on Iraq and weapons of mass distruction, even though official reports suggest otherwise, SK...and when Kerry reintroduced those facts, he was exposing Bush's lie. When Kerry retorted that Bush's Clear Skies Act was a falacy and that our air quality is worse than when Bush came into office, he was exposing Bush's lies...when Kerry mentioned the hikes in medicare and medicaid, and how many Americans lost such benefits under the Bush Administration, he was exposing a lie...shall I go on? How the only tax cut Bush ever made only benefitted the highest (smallest) tax bracket...something Bush really doesn't want voters to hold onto...another lie. Lies come in many forms, from coverups to outright blunders such as Bush's ties to a timber company during his term...one of his small businesses, that he still earns from due to royalties even though he sold the company back in 2002...LIES, LIES, LIES...everything Bush stands for is LIES. And I am hoping that Americans will want to stand behind someone more bent on bettering our society rather than keeping us fearful of an uncertain future. |

SC, yes but Bush did the same to Kerry. I will admit to you Im dumb and I couldnt give you specifics right now. I did watch the debate..Im just rootin for Bush tho. Not because I agree 100% w/ what he's doing but because I dont like Kerry |

There are also rumors Kerry pulled out some sort of piece of paper during the debate (which is not allowed). I don't remember seeing that when I watched it, but I guess some people watch the tapes over and over trying to find something to discredit them with. I think it's nothing more then a bunch of conspiracy theorists with nothing better to do. And if he's talented enough to use "blinking eye morse code", I'd vote for him on that alone. |

That is not a very good reason to back anyone. Your vote should be based on research...something I've been heavily involved with from the time Bush made an error of jumping into war unprepared...the moment he went after Saddam with 3 times the force as Bin Laden was reason enough for me to start tracking the other decisions Bush made and how they effect the people who are closest to me. Thank you for sharing your two cents...May I ask, are you going to vote Nov. 3rd? If so, why are you saying you are dumb? I wouldn't agree with that...a little lazy maybe about your approach, but certainly not dumb There are tons of sources on line, on air, and in newspapers to help you level your intellect in making a fair and balanced vote at the polls...I hope your dislike for Kerry goes beyond his physical appearance. That's a shallow observation when determining the more able-minded to run our country. |

BTW ALF, now that you mention it, I do think I saw Kerry thumbing papers...but I thought it was his notes, and I thought they were allowed. I found it compelling that Kerry addressed Bush face to face quite often in this Friday's debate whereas Bush felt more comfortable combing the audience with his less than honest responses, rarely looking his opponent in the eye. I also found it astounding that Bush couldn't or wouldn't mention even one of the three mistakes the last panelist asked for in the debate. He is bent on not owning his mistakes. |

In a Townhall format you're suppose to address your audience, that is one of the things Kerry was counted off for by analysts. He should have addressed the audience more and the people asking the questions. |

Kerry not only addressed each member by name as he was answering their questions (and counteracting on Bush's previous comments), he also recalled one of the members' names, (who asked a question towards the beginning of the debate) well towards the end of the debate. I did tell Mike, my husband, that Kerry should be speaking more to the voters than to the President, but I think there was something just as effective in his decision to approach the President. If our President flies off the handle at UN leaders like he did to some of Kerry's responses, it's no wonder our country has less allies than foes. He's not personable, but abominable. JMO |

When I first saw the title of your post, I was thinking you meant a different type of "wired" lol. I do sometimes watch Bush and wonder how he made it through childhood without Ritalin. |

Some people have said that they saw Kerry take a piece of paper out of his jacket. I did not see this though, and I didn't see Bush with a wire either. I was actually paying attention to what they were saying and not the abscense or presence of wires and papers. Notes were allowed to be taken, and they both took notes on the paper provided for them on their desks. |

ALF, I listened to every word. The camera men noted the wire...not me I also am able to watch opponents reactions which are key in leadership. Body language speaks loudly to those able to read it. I never knew Abraham Lincoln (duh , but I imagine Kerry's stature and approach to be much closer related to Lincoln's than Bush to any other President in US History. I don't know why, but everytime I see Kerry, my mind blinks Lincoln?!? |

I watched the debate..and I noticed almost every other word from Kerry is "I have a plan" oooooook..so he has a plan, so what? will his "plans" even work? for all we know Kerry plans could change. I bet President Bush had some plans too before Sept. 11, but I bet those change after what happened. too me Kerry is just a big talk. *shrugs* i never really researched about Bush and Kerry but I still go for Bush..even though im not 18 or whatever the age where you get to vote. |
