One of the scariest things to ever happen to me -- Mike

The only real downside I can see to drinking alcohol is this - a blackout. I've had it happen on a few occasions. Suffice it to say, its like being possessed. The last thing you remember is taking that last sip of beer and the next thing you remember you wake up the next morning. You don't remember ever going to sleep, in fact you have ten missing hours unaccounted for. You come to find out sleeping isn't all you've been up to. One time I apparently went outside to look for cans so I could get more beer, after midnight! Another time my normally kind disposition was replaced with a nasty one, and I was very rude to my sister and took everything she said personally. Luckily I haven't streaked or anything like that yet lol. All I can say is you have to be careful with alcohol, especially relatively strong alcohol like Camo or even worse hard liquor. You might risk a blackout and it isn't fun. Normally innocent people have raped or even killed people in a blackout! Blackouts are definately very scary. Anyone else ever had blackouts? What did you come to find out you did while in your blackout?

Date: 10/10/2004 8:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    I am very careful with alcohol, because the first time I blacked out, it scared me. I never drank that much again. I don't like having points in my life that I don't remember.
Date: 10/10/2004 8:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 62136    Glad you recognize this, better to know it before you do end up in jail over something you now know could have detrimental effects on anyone. The only time I blacked out is when my addrenaline got pumping so much when someone picked a fight with me...I whooped her bad and dont remember a thing. I avoid any and all confrontations and am more of a peace maker. As for alcohol, I watch what I drink...I wont drink takillya...poor car wash people have it rough

Date: 10/10/2004 9:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 47218    This is a result of binge drinking (y'know-- drinking to get drunk), and is one of those signs that your drinking has gotten out of hand. I stick mainly to beer, wine and mixed drink these days (I don't enjoy the taste of hard liquor-- I mean, tequilla or rum- yech-- does anyone really enjoy the taste of those things?) and I drink slowly-- maybe one or two drinks an hour-- and I try very hard not to exceed my drink limit, which is two drinks...occassionally I'll go to three or four if the drinks taste really good or I'm hanging out for quite a while...I know, bad. Also, I just don't drink as often as I used to. Maybe every other weekend. I don't want to put too much strain on liver or my pancreas.
Date: 10/10/2004 9:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 47218    and did I mention that I HATE hangovers. It's such a waste of your day off to wake up feeling like crud. In my book, if I'm hungover, then I've had too many.
Date: 10/10/2004 11:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 28767    Yeah I avoid confrontations when I'm drunk. But I don't like to drink a lot anymore. More for just to be social. But now i can't even drink for another 9 months. HAHAA. Oh well. Peace Out..
Date: 10/10/2004 4:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 62146    In all the time I have been drinking alcohol I have never blacked out yet or vomited gotten a hang over or anything yet but I have seen it happen to some people. a guy in my class told me he was watching tv and he watched this show simular to cribs crashers on MTV and he said he saw a ritch guy who had a room in his house that was all white like I mean everything was complettly white. exsept he got red paint and splatered it everywhere and put red hand prints on the pillows and stuff. apparently the guy that lives there said that when his friend et wasted he take them into that room and leave them their imagain how freaky that would be to wake up in a room like that after not rembering a thing you did last night.
Date: 10/10/2004 5:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 39258    never had a blackout...
Date: 10/10/2004 10:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 40881    On my 21st B-day I was drinking alot!! lol. last thing I remember I was drinking my 21st shot of whatever someone else was buying.. I woke up on the floor of the bathroom between the toilet and the tub, They said I danced with alot of women and men until the bar closed, drove home, stoped at taco bell, called my X boyfriend and told him I still loved him, and cryed... lmao.. I don't remember ANY of that! needless to say I was embarassed and wished I didn't drink so much! *hugz*
Date: 10/10/2004 10:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    I tried to make love to a toliet. But, hey, we all have out moments.
Date: 10/11/2004 12:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 16671    YEP one time when I was drinking some tequilla *sp* I didnt FEEL like I was drinking much as I was sitting most the time, and then the hubby says lets go to bed. I remember getting up to walk to the door as we were outside at the pic nic table, then I dont remember anything until morning. I havent got sick drinking since I was a teen but I guess I did this time as I woke up to find lots of awful stuff in the bathtub and I asked him what happened. He said I lay on the floor laughing and trying to get up for awhile, then I went to the bathroom and got sick. He said he put my p.j.s on me and he said we had a GREAT time after that.
Date: 10/11/2004 2:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 28190    I never drank that much, nor would I really want to. I am the type (well not really now cause I am pregnant so No alcohol at all for me) that is always very careful what I would drink and how much. I would always drink just enough to make me feel good and then switch to a coke or coffee if I think I had too much. The thought of a black out has always terrified me, just something about not knowing what I could do during that time, is enough to make me respect the power that alcohol has. *hugs*
