Well depends which country you're talking about. I feel very safe in Canada, as opposed to be scared to heck when I was in the states for only 15 minutes lol. |

I hear what you mean. Im not afraid of anything world wise, but other saftey I am <if ya know what I mean>. I also live out in the country and now that hunting season is apon us I hear alot of gun shots, but it still scares me especially when I am outside. With so much crime that can happen anywhere at anytime who would feel safe?! |

I will feel saferwhen they take the guns away from the criminals who walk the streets right here in the USA. It is sad when we can't go anywhere we choose at night or day for fear of being in the "wrong" area of town. |

Whenever they turn on the TVs in school, without warning to the news channels...It scares me. It reminds me of September 11th, and I'm paranoid. |

I think violence in the world around us is just like sex. It's always been here and always will be. It is just how much we are aware of it and how we decide to live with it. We are a more informed society today and sometimes the information aquired is a two edged sword. Knowledge on one side of the blade and fear on the other side. |

I so very agree with the author above me. Green T I think?? There has always been violence and always will be in our world. It's very much how you deal with it. Also the internet and more choices on TV let us see the big picture as opposed to 20 years ago when we didn't have any of that. I feel just as safe with Bush in office as I did Clinton!!!!!!!!!!!!Misty |

I'd have to agree w/ Moonie. Pretty sad that we're supposed to be the best country to live in, but at the same time, we're scared to death to be here, half the time. |

It scares me when I hear of drive by shootings and innocent children being hit by bullets. And serial killers going on killing sprees, etc. Or parents killing their children. I can go on and on but I won't. |

I live in the country and hear gunshots too. In fact, I feel safer that my neighbors have guns and we are allowed to target shoot and hunt in this area. Guns make me feel safe, because I know if someone tries to break into my house I'll have something to defend myself with. In fact crime is quite low where I live, criminals don't want to rob houses where they might risk getting shot at. |

Well, I don't know about the States but I think it depends where you're living. For the most part, I feel pretty safe here considering I live in Canada's safest city (supposedly). |

i feel safe in the united states in general, but not very safe in the town i live in. it is a really cute teeny tiny town, only four square miles, but there are many thugs and shootings. i am not real happy about having to raise my son here. |
