How Can Some People Do This????.....Zema

I was watching television tonight and this story came on about this beautiful little dog, that had been abandoned in a park...Now this was not just a little dog left all alone...this sick person who must be of low intelligence to have done such a terrible thing, went to the trouble of taking the dog's kennel along with the dog to the park, put the poor little thing in it, and completely sealed up the door and the window in it with a very wide tape..A man walking his dog through the park heard the animal whimpering and called in the R.S.P.C.A which over here looks out for our animals...it is believed to have been there for about 2 days with no food or water....There is absolutely no excuse to do this as we have plenty of animal shelters that unwanted animals can be taken to..You should have seen this poor little thing, it was shaking and terrified, I felt like crying and find it so hard to believe that people can do this to a defenceless animal, makes one wonder what that person is capable of doing to a human being....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! and if they do catch whoever did it, all that will happen is a fine...not good enough I say!!!!

Luv and Peace....Zema

Date: 10/8/2004 3:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 37101    Two days is nothing. Hate to tell you but a lot of animals have much worse conditions then that. But you can't decide punishments on how much you love animals and hate people who commit inhumane acts against them, you have to be reasonable. -
Date: 10/8/2004 3:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 41744    that is horrible
Date: 10/8/2004 3:43:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    well Smooth Criminal, where it was left would have been a lot longer than 2 days only for the man walking his dog and hearing it whimpering...and I also think that anyone with an ounce of intelligence would not treat an animal that way...or would they?????it doesnt matter whether anyone is an animal lover or not, NO animal deserves to be treated in such a way, and the person committing these inhuman acts towards them need to be jailed as far as I'm concerned...thank you for your comment, its always interesting to hear others opinions.....cheers
Date: 10/8/2004 3:44:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    thank you WHG!! I think it was horrible also hun...made me sick to the stomach...hugs
Date: 10/8/2004 3:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 37101    For the record... I'm not condoning animal cruelty, I just don't see the severity in this as compared to some other things. -
Date: 10/8/2004 3:47:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    yes Smooth Criminal, of course there are a lot of worse things happening, but I was talking about this particular incident, and I think its horrible
Date: 10/8/2004 3:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    omg, whoever left that poor dog like that is heartless. why? why would they not take it to a animal shelter? thats just sick..
Date: 10/8/2004 3:58:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    thanks Shay, it was a heartless act, and I hope that they find someone that will look after him properly...hugs hun
Date: 10/8/2004 4:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    omg, smooth criminal. reasonable?????? what the person did to that poor dog is absolutely horrible. whoever did it, obviously wanted it to die. otherwise they wouldnt have taped up the door and window WITHOUT food and water.. HOW can you not see the severity in this one case?????
Date: 10/8/2004 4:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 62893    That is horrible. I can't see how anyone could do anything to hurt another animal or human being. I could never cause physical pain to anything or anyone. Misty
Date: 10/8/2004 4:15:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    I feel that way also Misty, couldnt hurt anything or anyone hun..and cannot see the reasoning for anyone who does...thank you for your comment...hugs
Date: 10/8/2004 4:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 48531    that is horrible. But remember, God has a way with things, and will undoubtedly make things right in the balance between that person and judgement. But it spars a memory as well, during the summer warm months, when it rains, frogs come out all over on the roads, and its so cute to see my wife swerving and driving 5 mph so she can avoid them. :P take care.
Date: 10/8/2004 4:25:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    MOODER12 thank you hun for your words here...and I can just picture your wife swerving and trying to dodge those little frogs, she must be a very caring person...I hope I spelt your taggie the right way!!!! hugs
Date: 10/8/2004 5:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    TO be honest with you, I find this along the lines of pre-meditated murder.. there should be some serious jail time for this.. this just gripes my tail that someone would have the audacity to do something like that to an animal.. I am as completely peeved as you are about this.
Date: 10/8/2004 5:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 19772    I agree that animal punishment laws are just not strong enough these days. For severe animal abuse cases (that usually result in death) the punishment is only $1,000 fine and about two days jail time. I understand that according to some people it's "only and animal" and we shouldn't punish them as severly as we would for taking a human life but what if someone killed your pet? I don't know about the rest of you but my animals are members of my family and to take one of their lives would severly traumatize my family. Some people treat their animals just like their children so wouldn't their suffering warrant a longer sentence for the person who did this horroble act? Not to get off subject too much, Zema, take comfort in knowing that the poor dog was found in time and there will be hundreds of others who saw that news story and will rush to the shelter to adopt the poor dog and give him a much better life. ~Take care~
Date: 10/8/2004 5:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    This just makes me shake in anger....and I'll tell you that is NOT a good thing......how would that guy liked to be put in a cage and have all the doors and windows sealed.....I'd do it to him in a heartbeat.....
Date: 10/8/2004 5:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    sorry didn't mean to say him. I meant to say would i do it to that person that put that little dog in the cage....oh yeah in a heartbeat.....I work for the SPCA now and I'll tell you if it happened in the city I lived in. I would hunt that person down....and they would be going to court.
Date: 10/8/2004 6:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 48531    eh mooder12, modder12, its all good. lmbo Take care.
Date: 10/8/2004 7:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    That's pretty sick. I can't understand why some people go through the trouble of that. All you have to do is drop your animal off at an adoption center and tell them you can't take care of it and you want it to go to someone that can. That's not hard! 2 days, 2 months....it doesn't matter....they still left the dog to die. Not right at all.
Date: 10/8/2004 7:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 62881    Yes, this is completely wrong. Something should be done as punishment.Something similar but worse just happened to be in my newpaper this morning and it happened locally:::Emaciated dogs rescued
Woman faces animal cruelty charges after officers find pit bulls at home:::A Columbus woman was charged Wednesday with six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after animal control officers found two dead dogs and eight emaciated pit bulls at her home.....http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgerenquirer/news/local/9863734.htm................She deserves it....Green Eyed Froggy

Date: 10/8/2004 9:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 29928    I agree with Paddy 100%. Punishments just do NOT fit the crimes at all!! It may just be a dog, but it is a creation of God's and deserves to live like any of us do. It feels and hurts too. Due to the "G" rating, I can't say what I would do to this person in here, but it wouldn't be nice. Hugs,
Date: 10/8/2004 9:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 60685    That makes me sick, I agree with Paddy, I'd do the same thing to the guy. And just yesterday, the moron I have for a neighbor was bathing a puppy by hanging him by its front legs and darting him with the water hose while the poor thing kept crying, and the saddest part is that still the puppy followed him around everywhere he went.
Date: 10/8/2004 9:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    okay Skylar....could you hand me that water hose...and then tell me where that guy is..then stand back...oh actually no wait the plain water hose is much too good for him...give me a fire hose...ya that'll work.....G-rated I know it is here..but I"ll tell ya when Ir ead this...I called my hubby and told him exactly what I wanted to do to that person.....I was so angry I was crying....I never get that angry.....let's just say this person would certainly think twice about even looking at an animal the wrong way. I'm sorry....I protect animals it's my job and a job that I'm proud of......and you';ll never guess what happened just this past week....a man whos mother passed away 10 years ago had a 12 year old cat..it got loose and the Animal Care and Control (which I do not work for) (I am SPCA Animal Enforcement Officer with full Police Power) he found out they had it...they charge 4 dollar a day for a holding fee..he didn't get paid till Tues...he told them he would come and get his cat...they said okay.....OMG> I called them this morning when I read it...and they made a mistake and euthanized this man's cat by mistake...how can you make a freakin mistake like that...so needless to say we are now investigating this mix up.....they knew he would be there Tues.....however...they normally only hold animals for 4 days then they euthanize them....Animal Care and Control does NOT have a no kill policy..the department that I work with does.....I just couldn't believe my eyes when I read this.....
Date: 10/8/2004 9:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    If I had have known this was going on...I would have given that man the money to get his cat out...heck I would have gone and got it for him..and I would have NEVER asked to be paid back.
Date: 10/8/2004 9:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 1799    i hate how cruel people are to animals. how can they hurt such innocent creatures? the dogs look for nothing but love and they are treated horribly. yet they still go back for more love even though they don't get any. I watch Animal Cops on animal planet all the time, and I'm even on the mailing list for ASPCA. once i get money, i'm going to donate it for the dogs. but, grrr.. i hope they catch the person who did it. i do wish the laws were stricter though. i see this offense equal to that of leazving a child out like that.
Date: 10/8/2004 10:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 62184    I honestly can't believe someone who do this, and how common it actually is. It just makes me sick to my stomach. I don't find any difference in doing it to a human or animal, except the animal can't defend itself.. especially a small one. And I have to say, being reasonable to whoever does this is letting them do it again. We want to end this, not make it worse. Anyway, this was a good post.. thanks for posting it.
Date: 10/8/2004 11:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    LMAO @ Modder about his wife driving slow and swearving to not run over any frogs That is so cute!!
Date: 10/8/2004 2:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    sorry MODDER!! lol!! I couldnt see the double "d", and I had my glasses on also lol!!! thanks everyone for showing how much compassion you all have for animals, all our pets ask for is some tender loving care, and as you all agree, if one can no longer look after one for one reason or another, there are plenty of places that will take them in...I hope they will find this person, And another thing, the actual kennel that it was imprisoned in, shouldnt be hard to identify, it was a top of the range kennel and I'm sure someone will know who owned it...once again, thank you for your comments ...hugs to you all
Date: 10/8/2004 3:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 62915    GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! This makes me so MAD!! There should definately be jail time involved! Ghost-Chick
Date: 10/8/2004 6:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    thank you Ghost-Chick, I cant stand cruelty to animals, and the thing that really gets to me is the leniency of the sentencing, its wrong!!! hugs
Date: 10/8/2004 6:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 62579    The person who done that must be very bad off. Animals have feelings and they feel hunger and pain just like we do.
Date: 10/8/2004 8:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    Very sad story Zema, I wonder how people who do these things can even live with themselves. They can't have a conscience, that's for sure.
Date: 10/8/2004 11:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 42945    thank you UnwantedTreasures and Brenda, it does make you wonder what kind of person this one is, you should have seen this beautiful dog, he was a bitsa, but big beautiful eyes and he was shaking all over with fear, someone will give him a lovely caring home...I hope!!! hugs to you both
