Be Encouraged Today. Your help is in the Lord. 10/6/04
There will be a time when we will ALL stand before the Lord to be judged. Are you ready?
Give and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you. Luke 6:38
So many people use the line, "Is this how you appreciate all that I've done for you." When you give something should you expect something back? The answer is YES, but not from the person you gave to. Your blessings will come from God. Giving to others does not warrant them to give you anything back except maybe a thank you but even that should not be expected. What kind of giving is God talking about? It can be giving of your time, talent, a kind deed, a smile, or money and so on. Giving is such a simple unselfish act. So the next time you give, remember to give it with love and most of all remember Whom you are ultimately giving to......God. Expect nothing in return and your reward will be from God. He reminds us through scripture, "I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me." Matthew 25:40.
There will be a time when we all will stand in front of the Lord to be judged and rewarded for our deeds. God will not ask you what kind of car you drove, but He'll ask you how many people you drove who didn't have transportation. God won't ask the square footage of your house, but He'll ask you how many people you welcomed into your home. God won't ask about the clothes you had in you closet, but He'll ask how many you helped to clothe. God won't ask about your social status, He will ask what kind of class you displayed. God won't ask how many material possessions you had, but he'll ask if they dictated your life. God won't ask what your highest salary was, but He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it. God won't ask how much overtime you worked, but He'll ask if your overtime work was for yourself or for your family. God won't ask how many promotions you received, but He'll ask how you promoted others. God won't ask what your job title was, but He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability. God won't ask what you what you did to help yourself, but He'll ask what you did to help others. God won't ask how many friends you had, but He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend. God won't ask what you did to protect your rights, but He'll ask what you did to protect the rights of others. God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived, but He'll ask how you treated your neighbors. God won't ask about the color of your skin, but He'll ask about the context of your character. God won't ask how many times your deeds matched your words. But he'll ask how many times they didn't. God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation, through Jesus Christ, but He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven and not to the gates of hell. Don't expect your rewards now. Store them up in heaven. Think about this, if you were to stand in front of God today, how would you answer Him? Be Encourged written by Jeanette
