can dreams be sent from a higher power?

A few years ago I had this dream, it was another chasing dream.

In my dream my ex boyfreind the abusive one was chasing me. We were in my home, in the woods, on a dirt road that had a biker bar, we went all over the state it seemed. I had freinds trying to help me and run along with me but they kept on dropping like flies. Me and other people including the bikers not only fought him but used knives, swords, guns, grenades, tanks nothing stopped him. Toward the end of my dream he was so beaten up that there was no more skin on his body and you could see all his muscles and stuff but yet he was still walking around like nothing had happened to him.

At the end me, my freinds and the bikers were waging an all out war on him yet alone he was winning and nothing was stopping him at best only holding him back some. Right before things started getting really crazy and I was so scared and tired of running and all the stress and all the voilence that I all of a sudden cried out to God. Then everything froze in mid air, everything and everyone. and the place was greatly illuminated, and one by one all the violence went away and my ex I think he dissapeared in a show of light and all the bad feelings went away and I felt new and whole and happy. Along with those feelings I was given a message straight into my being that I can use all sorts of means to get my ex out of my life freinds, words, courts, running, even weapons, but all I really had to do was ask of him and I would have nothing to fear. Then everything let up. people got up shook hands rode thier bikes into the sunset and all my freinds that I lost along the way were restored.

I woke up with this peace and a profound understanding. This dream came at a time when I had been gone from my ex for only a few months and I just got something in the mail from him it was a court summons for visitation and custody of our infant(he wasn't even supposed to know where I lived, I was scared for my life). I was so stressed trying to figure out how to beat this getting lawyers, freinds to testify, even thinking about moving far away, many states away etc.
