USM ALABAMA GETAWAY MEETING......

Hi again everyone. MsPriss and I drove up to Oak Mountain State Park yesterday to get a good look at the pavilions and facilites for next June's USM Alabama gathering. The only way to describe the area is beautiful. Nice shaded pavilion areas, lovely lakes, nature hiking and biking trails, and numerous other facilities. For those who like golf, there is a championship course in the park. For anyone with plans to travel by RV there is camping in the park, and even sites for tents for anyone who might want to "rough it".

We will have a chat meeting tonight to lay out preliminary plans for next years gathering. The chat will be at 8PM(CST), 6PM for those on the west coast, in Chat 2. It will be a chance to find out what all we need to do to make this gathering a huge success, and who is available to help in what way. There are a lot of things to go over. We will need volunteers to help out with detailed planning, name tags, events, t-shirts for the event, and many other details.

Within the next few weeks we will be putting together a web site to maintain all the details, and who will be able to help in what way, and how to contact those involved in the planning and workings of the gathering. We will also be posting an address for donations to help cover the cost of the gathering. Once the site is up, we will work with George and Ginger to have a link on the main page for the site. There will also be photos on the site of the park and the surrounding area.

Hope to see a lot of people tonight in Chat 2, as we begin to get next year's gathering on it's way.
