I hope they find the mother and she should be charged with murder...regardless of age. There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for anyone to do this, given the options available to them.  |

This makes me sick....how can any mother throw away her child to die?? I hope to God she pays for what she did each day of the rest of her life...A woman left her baby in the trash in my state and we have a law where they can bring the baby to a fire dept, police station, hospital within amount of time after birth and no questions will be asked..so I don't get it...if you don't want your baby then give to people who will see that it can have a better future!  |

I can't beleive that I share the same genes as some humans out there.... scratch that even a dog wouldn't leave thier baby to die... animals would fight to the death to save thier offspring, but no - not some people out there.... oh this makes me so mad!!!! Then there is the knowledge that I probably can't have any more children, and i want them so badly...... but people who don't deserve them can have them left and right, and then not even care what happens to thier child..... explain that to me... explain why I am trying so hard, and i can't have another child, but these sick twisted worthless peices of garbage can spit children out like it is nothing.....??????? this makes me want to change the law.... I say we sterilize ignorant people...... they have no rights after they do something this terrible to life.... who are they to think they can just decide what happens to a breathing living baby!!!!! Hand the mother to me for five minutes, i guarantee you justice will be done!  |

Poor little mite... how tragic are these things. We had another such case like this last winter where someone had dumped a live naked newborn baby in a snowbank and left it to freeze to death. I would not like to be these people when they meet their children and must answer for what they have done to them when they pass over themselves!  |

I really cant put a judgement on the mother because I do not know what kind of situation she was in, maybe she felt there was no other way out...who knows. I am in NO way saying what she did was right and she does deserve to be punished for what she did.  |

I don't know why. I've been thinking about this. My oldest daughter turned 30 this year, they have tried fertility drugs to get pregnant and haven't. My son in laws brother and his wife have paid over thirty thousand dollars to adopt a child from Mexico. The money was supposed to be for medical expenses. I personally think someone is taking advantage of free health care and never had any intention of adoption. Some say it's God will, but that makes no more sense than a baby being dumped in a field. It's very sad Kiki, because I know two couples who would have loved this child and ache for just the want of a child. It makes no sense.  |

What I find even more disturbing after reading this is that there are so few babies being placed for adoption. My son in laws family want any baby of any race or culture and so would my daughter, but it hasn't happened. I told my daughter that she should consider adopting from another country... maybe. Or an older child. This is such a sad story for me. |

A poor little child that never got to even have a choice to live life. Don't worry because the baby is safe and warm in Heaven. What is the world coming to? I would take an unwanted baby in a second! There are so many people that want to have a child and can't and people do things like this every day! I had trouble having a baby but God blessed us with a baby this year. I could go on forever, but I can't. Very sad!  |

I think this is horrible and sad but I have to play devils advocate and point out that we don't know the full story, it's upsetting so its easy for us to jump quickly at the mom assuming shes this horrid beast but my mind asks 'why' before placing blame. Theres no good reason to let a child die like this, but there may be circumstances that could make us understand. I didn't see any mention that the baby was born alive so right now much is speculation. I would hope that any mom in a bad situation would take advantage of the Baby Moses law, which I know people have issues with but I think it's a far better resource then the alternitive.  |

Even if the mother was very young and afraid, she could have left the baby somewhere that someone could save it. Once around here (somewhere, not sure exactly where) there was a lady who bought a duffle bag and put the baby in it (with it open so it was obviouus she wanted the baby found) and left it just inside the ER doors so someone would find it. Why can't people do that??? This is just so sad!  |

I firmally agree, how could a person live with theirselves after doing such a TERRIBLE thing. There are so many people in this world that would take the baby and give it all the love in the world and here she just takes it and throws it away. I jsut simply cannot undestand how anyone could do such an inhumane thing to another human being like that. Thanks for sharing this story with us.
