Now what do I do?

I only have 9 days left in the military. I was dead set on going to college, getting my degree, and getting a good paying job. But now, that seems so boring, so mundane! A huge part of me wants to give into the wanderlust and go bum around Ireland for a couple months....but then there's the money issue! I've been wracking my brain, trying to figure out what I want to do....should I be practical and go with the mundane option of college and the great job search--or should I put on my walking shoes and purchase a ticket for Dublin?

Date: 9/15/2004 11:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 26363    Personally, I would put it down to a gap year and book the ticket to Dublin.
Date: 9/15/2004 11:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 48812    Go Dublin, lol.......just take a year to yourself, and when you get there, make sure you send me a postcard :-p
Date: 9/15/2004 12:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 37843    Which do you really want to do? could u do both? take some time off and go see Ireland, then go to college? You are the one who has to live with your decisions. Will you regret not going to Ireland when you get older? Will you regret not going to college? Try not to have any regrets.

Date: 9/15/2004 12:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Isn't it to late to start college for this semester? You could go to Ireland and start college in January.
Date: 9/15/2004 12:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    Go to college in IReland.....I dont know....I'd be opting for Ireland though...
Date: 9/15/2004 1:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 47218    purchase a ticket for Dublin! Later on life, you get so weighed down with a job, a family and responsibilities, that you don't have the freedom to just take off for a foreign country whenever you please. Best to take advantage of it while you can. You can still go to college in a few months, and money and job issues you can figure out later.
Date: 9/15/2004 2:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 57452    I have always wanted to go to Ireland. I have Ancestory there. I wish I could have had the chance to go Europe/Asia walking in my early twenties. Buy the ticket, roam for a year! If you do not, you may miss a chance of a lifetime while you are young! I very unfortuanetly missed mine. It is so much better to travel when you are young, then in a middleage. Who wants to travel when ones looks are fading/dying??
I would much rather be a hot young thing traveling Europe/Asia then an old woman or man. My opinion.
Can I have a souvenoir please? :P

Date: 9/15/2004 2:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 7710    I say go to Ireland. A person can go to college anytime, but a chance to go to another country doesn't always happen.
Date: 9/15/2004 2:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    Dublin!!! Believe me...theres plenty enough time to become a 'working clone'...have fun while you can. Peace,
Date: 9/16/2004 6:38:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62829    Thank you all for responding. I'm gonna look at colleges in Ireland, so maybe I can kill two birds with one stone =0)
