The unwanted part 6

Darby Lee didnt hear from Keith for the next few days. she knew he was busy at work and everything. He was working longer hours since winter was coming. She called him that Friday to see what he was doing and he asked her if she wanted to go out that night. She said sure and he told her he would pick her up around 9:00. Well 9:00 came and went and there was no Keith. she tried calling him but there was no answer. She went to the club herself that night. When she walked in Scott looked at her and real cocky said "Where is Keith?" She lied and said he was tired, so he isnt coming out.

Saturday morning she called him again but didnt get an answer. She left him a message to call her. He called her back around noon and said he was at work because a machine broke down and he had to go into fix it. He asked her if she wanted to go to a party with him that night around 7:00 at the club. She said sure. She knew her brother was going to go also because he talked about it all day. She asked Keith if he wanted her to ride up with her brother or if he was going to pick her up. he said she could go up with her brother because he had a few things to do before he came up. He said if she rode with her brother he wouldnt have to rush to pick her up.

She rode to the club with him around 5:00 because he wanted to go a little earilier. When they got up there it was packed. Her brother told her to go get something to eat while they still had the food out so she did and then went and sat at the table with her brother and his friends. She wasnt paying attention to the time, but she noticed around 12:00 a.m. that Keith was still not there. She tried calling him and there was no answer. She was getting mad now because this is the second time he didnt show up. Her brother left around 1:00 and didnt even say he was leaving. she was stuck there with no ride home. She didnt want to call home and wake everyone up so she thought if worst came to worst she would walk home it was only a few minutes down the road. She sat there talking to her brothers friend, Dan, and he said if she needed a ride home he would ride her home, but she would have to sit in the back of the truck because there was no room in the front because he was riding 2 others home. she said that was fine she didnt care it would only take 2 minutes for him to drive to her house. She got home around 3:00 a.m. and was so upset that she got stood up she couldnt sleep.

She didnt hear from Keith at all for the next few days. she couldnt figure out why he was avoiding her. She was coming home Tuesday night and she seen him sitting outside so she decided to stop. When she pulled in he was like hey whats up? Like nothing was wrong. She didnt say a word to him about him standing her up. she wanted to see if he would say anything. He didnt though. He talked to her for a bit then said he had to go get showered and ready for bed. He had to be at work for 3:00 a .m She said ok and went to give hima kiss bye and he didnt want to give her one. he turned his head and said he was all sweaty and dirty from work. she said she didnt care and had him give her one anyhow. He acted like it really bothered him to give her a kiss.

On the way home she said to herself she wasnt going to call him anymore she wanted to see how long it took him to call her. she didnt hear from him for the next 4 days. He finally called her saturday afternoon and asked what she was doing that evening. she said she wasnt doing anything. He said yeah neither was he. Well they talked a bit then he said he would call her later that evening. He never called. She asked her brother to ride her to the club around 7:00. she didnt feel like driving herself. He rode her up there and dropped her off. he said he would be back around 10:00. He didnt feel like going out that early. she sat there in her corner by herself. Scott was working but he still wasnt talking to her. He would talk to her long enough to give her a beer and that was as far as it went.

She sat there watching TV and drinking her beer waiting on her brother to come up. She thought she seen his truck pull in but it wasnt his. It was Keiths. he came walking in the door and sat at the other end of the bar from her. he seen her because he said hi to her, then he sat there talking to a buddy of his. She couldnt figure out why he was being ignorant to her. Scott came down to give her another beer and asked why she wasnt sitting with Keith. She said she didnt feel like it because he was talking to his buddy. She didnt want to bother him.

She sat there keeping an eye on him trying to figure out why he was being that way. She sat there for about an hour when this girl came walking in and sat down with Keith. Darby Lee was in shock. He never said anything to her about going out with anyone else. She figured that was why he was being so distant with her. She didnt want to cause a scene at the bar so she sat there like it didnt bother her. She was trying to hold the tears back though. It was getting harder and harder to do. She seen the girl lean over and kiss Keith and that was all it took. She stood up and grabbed her purse and went to leave.

Keith seen her leaving and he ran out behind her trying to explain. he said she was his ex-girlfriend and they talked and decided to get back together. She looked and said that he should of been man enough to tell her this so she didnt look like an idiot. he asked her where her car was and she said she didnt have it because her brother dropped her off. He said well how are you getting home? She said he is going to walk. He was like yeah right. he said hold on he would drive her home. She told him not to bother, and walked away. He ran into get his keys and when he came back out she was gone. She had started to walk home but instead of going down the road she had decided to cut down through the trail in the woods that led to her back yard........
