Hopefully N.C. will just get rain, as if we need anymore. The "projected path", for what that's worth, looks like the coast of N.C. will not get hammered.Am sure the residents of parts the Outter Banks are tired of being "cut off" from everybody when a hurricane hits.I do wish all the folks that do have to deal with it well.Hopefully Raleigh will just rain. |

We're bracing ourselves here in South Carolina. Luckily we're with my mother and father in law, who are both on oxygen 24/7. We have evacuation plans already in place, and a place to go. We're just hoping for the best but it looks like Frances is headed directly toward us. |

I was just watching this storm on the news and they have already evacuated 1,000,000 out of Florida and they were talking about how many people inland would also be affected. I know that here in GA, we will get wind and rain from it..I hope that's all! May God be with all those to be affected. Hugs, |

There have been 2.5 million people evacuated as of today...there will be more evacuated tomorrow. We will be feeling some of the wind from this storm tomorrow but it is not due to make landfall until sometime between 12 and 2 pm Saturday. It has fluctuated a great deal though anywhere from Jacksonville to Miami to staying right on the coast. As many times as we have had a scare where there have been near hits though we know until it is actually here you wont know where it comes in at or where it is going to exit. The meteorologists can only make an educated guess by studying many many models produced by their statistics. The newest news is a cold front which is either moving in or forming above Florida which could cause this storm to stall right over Central Florida and drop up to 20 inches of rain over three days |

My daughter is in Melbourne, Florida, so I'm very worried because they have decided to stay and "ride out" the storm. It will be a long weekend for me and for them. Keep Floridians in your thoughts in these last few hours and please hope for their safety. |

It will dump lots of water simply by moving so slow, but hopefully the wind damage will be lesser with the latest downgrade. |
