UPDATE! HURRCAINE FRANCES!! HITTING FLORIDA EARLY SATURDAY!~~~SOTL

  Author:  50678  Category:(News) Created:(9/2/2004 10:19:00 AM)
This post has been Viewed (1023 times)

Hurricane Frances is right now off the coast of Cuba!!

Frances is now an category 4, Andrew was a category 5, Charley was a category 3, so Frances can still get up to a category 5.

The eye is now about 50 - 100 miles wide.

Frances is heading straight for Florida, it will hit Florida early morning of Saturday. TAKE SHELTER THE NIGHT BEFORE!!

It will hit at about cape cod or around there!!

The other states that will be hit by Frances are Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and the surrounding states.

As Frances turns back into a tropical storm it will move up the eastern part of the US, meaning all the states are in for dangerous Tropical rains!!

As I said before in my first post, you can get all of this information off the National Hurricane Center.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Please pray for our friends in these areas!!

Blessed Be, Spiritsof the Light

Date: 9/2/2004 10:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 18155    Hopefully N.C. will just get rain, as if we need anymore. The "projected path", for what that's worth, looks like the coast of N.C. will not get hammered.Am sure the residents of parts the Outter Banks are tired of being "cut off" from everybody when a hurricane hits.I do wish all the folks that do have to deal with it well.Hopefully Raleigh will just rain.
Date: 9/2/2004 10:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 22308    I hope everyone that lives over there wil be safe and unharmed when this happens. God bless all of you!

Date: 9/2/2004 11:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    We're bracing ourselves here in South Carolina. Luckily we're with my mother and father in law, who are both on oxygen 24/7. We have evacuation plans already in place, and a place to go. We're just hoping for the best but it looks like Frances is headed directly toward us.

Date: 9/2/2004 12:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 29928    I was just watching this storm on the news and they have already evacuated 1,000,000 out of Florida and they were talking about how many people inland would also be affected. I know that here in GA, we will get wind and rain from it..I hope that's all! May God be with all those to be affected. Hugs,

Date: 9/2/2004 5:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50678    Thats right heather, I forgot to add that!! Yes some places are saying it will hit firday but from the forcast maps I have seen in class it will hit Saturday morning!! That could be wrong though!! It is estimated that this will take care of the rest of Florida, there will be nothing left!!
Date: 9/2/2004 5:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 48250    My Thoughts and Prayers are with Every One..I Hope it passes Florida and just dies out... Keep us updated please....Prayers and Thoughts, T/C
Date: 9/2/2004 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 53900    There have been 2.5 million people evacuated as of today...there will be more evacuated tomorrow. We will be feeling some of the wind from this storm tomorrow but it is not due to make landfall until sometime between 12 and 2 pm Saturday. It has fluctuated a great deal though anywhere from Jacksonville to Miami to staying right on the coast. As many times as we have had a scare where there have been near hits though we know until it is actually here you wont know where it comes in at or where it is going to exit. The meteorologists can only make an educated guess by studying many many models produced by their statistics. The newest news is a cold front which is either moving in or forming above Florida which could cause this storm to stall right over Central Florida and drop up to 20 inches of rain over three days
Date: 9/2/2004 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 53900    Anyone interested in learning more about it directly from the news station we have here go to www.wftv.com
Date: 9/2/2004 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 28270    My mom heared on the news that the storm might not be as strong by the time it reaches fl. I was also told by Wooden Nickle that another hurrican is following frances.
Date: 9/2/2004 8:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 28270    And hey... has anyone wondered why you never hear of damage done to disney world?
Date: 9/2/2004 8:50:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50678    Jessica, the best site to go to for information is the National Hurrcaine Center!! This Hurrcaine isn't going to change if it was it would have already!! It is moving very slow!!!
Date: 9/3/2004 9:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    My daughter is in Melbourne, Florida, so I'm very worried because they have decided to stay and "ride out" the storm. It will be a long weekend for me and for them. Keep Floridians in your thoughts in these last few hours and please hope for their safety.
Date: 9/3/2004 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    It will dump lots of water simply by moving so slow, but hopefully the wind damage will be lesser with the latest downgrade.
Date: 9/4/2004 3:59:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50678    I know that is why it will be so bad, the rain!!
