I was thinking of this, too! I think it's a great idea! But I think it would work best if there was one person (or a team) to act as mediator between the traders as a safety precaution.  |

Deb, That sounds like a terrific idea. You would never believe all the things that I just cleared out of my computer room that I no longer wanted. Anyway, I seem to collect so much from yard sales, etc, only to have to get rid of some of the things later. I usually give the things away to family and neighbors or I have to tote everything down to a charity center. Your way would be a great way to share things we no longer want..Here are a few things I could list right now..2 boxes of misc knick knacks.. a medium size entertainment center.. 2 ladies coats, size 14 ..2 or 3 mens large plaid winter shirts, boys clothing, sizes 2 and 3..Some toys that are appropiate for 2-3 year old boys, etc.. One thing I was thinking that may be a problem with some people would be the shipping charges involved. But I believe most people would gladly pay shipping charges for something they really wanted, such as, if someone wanted the entertainment center I have, all they would have to pay for it would be the shipping charges.  |

Social Slacker, yep lots of people would like to trade stuff and ya know even some that live close to each other, could trade work or something. Pammierose, I think now days even newspapers should carry a barter section. Shimmer,midnightly,alissa,aquarose, thanks. Mercury,:::: YES that would be a good idea but I'm wondering whom might even have the time to do that? For those that dont really trust people they could get a post office box instead of their address, or have it u.p.s to say a gas station or store at their town that they have made arrangments with.  |

Now that were here for the winter, its going to be cold COLD COLD. hehehe. DOHENCY: that is a great Idea, I too love to read and have all kinds of books, we should start a swap club. All your ideas are great ones. Hey I never expected such a big response to this post and I've been at work all day. I dont know if you have my addy or not, but I'll email it to you. I'm back in Utah. Oh heck ya, she has some clothes for the baby, but needs those little one z things, and p.j.s. Her sister in law gave her a swing and stroller and a crib, but the crib is too big for her room and she wants the baby close by while its tiny. I move back and forth as its my husbands job, but its looks like we wont be moving for a while, matter of fact we rented out our home in nevada now as were here for lordy knows how long. |

The baby Dohency is due the middle of Oct, but I'm thinking she wont last through this month. So anything would be great girl! IceQueen, yes benificial as I said, some dont trust others with their addys, I think those of us that have been here two to four years usually do and have already shared addys and phone numbers. But some go between people would be nice. Smooth :::::: Yes, one has to be really carefull, or go through a third party that knows the person. But I think it would be interesting.
