Yesterday at like 11 at night I went to McDonalds for a rest stop because we were driving home from an amusement park. We went in did the usual rest stop stuff and then we decided to order some food.

We get to the counter and there's only 1 family in front of us and they stood there for like 10 minutes not even getting there food yet. The cashier looked about 70 and she was doing everything under the sky. She gave like 40 sauces to a person and that took 5 minutes. So I'm standing their in a jacket for 10 minutes and she not even noticing that were there! So we left without food.

Thanks for reading this rant:)

Date: 8/24/2004 7:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 62423    Just one of the many reasons why I don't care for MCdonalds... It practically takes you a half hour to even get up to the cashier! LOL Usually I'll just go with the drive thru, you don't have to deal with people...
Date: 8/24/2004 7:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 62675    Well what do you expect at 11pm from a poor old lady who should be retired and sitting at home relaxing enjoying herself but instead has to work a menial job making 5 bucks an hour. Instead of being angry you should feel sorry for the woman. That could be you one day! By the time we retire there may be no social security. It makes me mad to hear people complain about poor service from the elderly.
Date: 8/24/2004 7:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 62249    I can see where it can go a little overboard, like what you cited above. But please be considerate. I work at a fast food restaraunt, and I know from expirience, you have to do more than one thing at once. For instance, you might be taking orders but then you might also have to be coordinating what goes with what order etc. Although what you went through does kind of seem ridiculous.
Date: 8/24/2004 7:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 62249    If theres no social security when I retire I'm going to do something... I am only 15 and already I pay into social security...
Date: 8/24/2004 7:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 62675    MC Bacon I am 25. Trust me there will be nothing for us. Not to mention the retiring age keeps going up. I worked in fast food too. I feel sorry for the elderly who HAVE to work!
Date: 8/24/2004 8:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 62249    What a world we live in...
Date: 8/24/2004 8:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 62401    Imagine your grandmother working at McDonalds at 11 at night... Mine would be dead on her feet... what about yours?
Date: 8/24/2004 8:32:00 AM  From Authorid: 15400    I don't like McDonald's period. Even though I did apply to work there it's kind of a last resort. Which I doubt they'll even call me, so I'm gonna have to bug them. But yes, McDonalds is slow for being a fast food place.
Date: 8/24/2004 8:46:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62476    yeah if my grandma worked there they must have low jobs cause she's about 80 something
Date: 8/24/2004 9:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 38406    One of my many reasons why I hate McDonalds!
Date: 8/24/2004 9:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 62599    All i can say is go A&W......but i do feel bad for that old lady
Date: 8/24/2004 9:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 37101    I work at Burger King and the corporate standard is to have the customers order taken and given out in under a minute and a half. Most of the time, we're able to fulfill this unless it's during lunch hour. The maximum waiting time we've ever had was 12 minutes for a line that snaked out the door, plus around the back wall and such. I feel bad for the lady though, I know what it's like to work underhanded and it's extremely frustrating. -
Date: 8/24/2004 11:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 13283    I freaking hate it when McDonalds asks me if I would please park out in front to wait for my food . There is not a single person behind me and they ask me to go out of my way (not wait at the window ) . This does NOT make any sense . Does anyone know why fast food places started doing this ? It irritates me big time . Razzy aka
Date: 8/24/2004 12:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 23101    Oh, thats sad. The McDonalds here in WA are really fast, too fast. They dont put everything that you order in the bag. Eeeek.. Hehe.. *hugs*
Date: 8/24/2004 12:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 62753    LOL ...... Mc Donalds is awesome here... can't complain!
Date: 8/24/2004 1:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 17081    Have a little patience. The old lady is probably doing her best. It's not the end of the world.
Date: 8/24/2004 3:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 44321    When we had to pull our car to the front of Mcdonalds, a worker brought us out our food,so not really going out of our way in my opinion, having to get out and run in for it would be defeating the purpose of going through the drive through in the 1st place, then I could say we had to go out of our way I think they do this in case a few more cars roll in, then they are not stopped up by the waiting order.
Date: 8/24/2004 3:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 51070    McDonald's sucks anyways. The animals they use to make their meat aren't treated well at all. I wouldn't eat there unless I just escaped from a concentration camp and was about ready to keel over - and we know I'm never going to wind up in a concentration camp, so, therefore, I will never, ever eat McDonalds in a million years. Besides, it's bad for your health!
Date: 8/24/2004 6:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I don't see how this has to do with McDonalds cause this happens at other places as well. She was probably have a bad day or something. One time, we went to a Sharies Resturant and just ordered a couple slices of pie and we waited in our seats forever. They served the people behind us their meal first even though we were there first and it doesn't take that long to cut up a piece a pie.
Date: 8/26/2004 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 58030    lol i'm not so bad with waits, The Micky d's i've been to have usually been pretty good and prompt, But my major issue with ANY fast food restaurant, is: ACCENTS OMG get someone who can speak a little bit more clearly please, it's hard enough to understand people through the little watchamacallit as it is, WITHOUT deciphering a dialect as well!
Date: 10/25/2004 10:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 62926    It could have been the Grill's fault, maybe the food wasn't up yet. In that case she should have told the other family to move to the right, and then took your order.
