Music of Goodbye.........................Hack

Play me out the door,
a slow blues number with a gentle hook.
Something with a walking bass so I can practice my strut,
and a piano.
There has to be a piano.

Play me solid music
with bones that rattle to shake the dust.
Something that cleans the sky, sweeping the clouds away
as my shoes
would clear the sidewalk.

Play me down the road
with a tune that implies light in the dark.
Something where the singer recalls the stars in the night,
while an echo
recalls the passing of my feet.

Play me goodbye
on an old, abused record player.
Something with a blunt needle and a quarter on the arm,
and let the notes
fade away along with me.

Date: 8/25/2004 10:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 10030    This reminds me of a piece I read in Lit class, once. Though, I must say, I enjoyed this one far more. It's very slow moving and eloquent.

Date: 2/5/2005 7:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 63041    The flow of this, the gentle request, it made me sigh as I read it. I don't do it often, but this is now bookmarked. I will read it often. Such lovely sadness.
Date: 2/21/2005 9:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 53016    Artistry. Love this. Simple, elegant. I got the image of a bluesman with a pained expression belting his heart out. That's just me. Kat.
