"A Small Open Letter"

Let me see if I can do this,
If in a few short words-
In the middle of the night;
I can convey my thoughts,
And fears, and plight;

My heart soars when I can conjure,
Write, speak, think and sing of rapture,
But, yet so often in these times,
There is so little of it for crafted rhymes,

When a pearl of passion leaves my oyster,
It's often late at night or when I am hindered,
And even when I do put pen to paper,
The keys on the keyboard are constant reminders,
That they have other tasks they must perform,
And so must I...

Thinking of you,
A Poet Torn.

Date: 8/11/2004 5:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 23796    I find that I can write better in the evenings, when the world is at rest and then finally my mind can do what it has longed to do all day...think. The day has so much troubles that one often doesn't have time for thought, just reaction. Great poem
