A Question About Frozen Turkey.......DragonFlyer

Does anyone know the shelf life of a frozen turkey?

You see I have this big 'ol 20 lb. turkey that has been in the freezer for about....*winces*...9 months. Yes I know what you are thinking..."Why has it been sitting there for so long?'....

Well it's a long story and if I try to explain it, it will only get my dander up again and I may say something that I shouldn't so we just won't go there...lol...

Anyway if someone could help me out here I would really appreciate it. I'd like to be able to smoke the darn thing (which will take about 14 hours), but need to know if it is still on the safe side, so to speak.

Thanks for the help folks :)

Let it thaw slowly in the fridge..not laying out on a table for hours..make sure its cooked completely through and a temp when done at 190 degrees. Hope that helps...
