Yes, we have been around on the internet constantly since early 1996. Back then the only feature we had was a list of posts that were read-only. The only way you could get a post on that list was to email it to us, then we would review it and upload it to USM. Pretty primitive ... huh? It's a good thing that with most good things, they evolve into something better and more comprehensive. By late 1999 we realized that our guests needed more ... much more !!! So categories, advice columns, a chat room, search mechanisms as well as a more friendly home page. Our profile pages were taken care of by Phe on another website, and Banner was taking care of the USM-ers photos. We can thank all the people back in those early times that helped bring USM forward into the 21st century. The 7 people that did all the monitoring of the entire site had a lot to do back then. Admin, Admin2, Admin4 (Banner), Admin5 (Sur5r), JR Admin (Emi), XAdmin (Snow White) & C-Admin (DreamerPoet). We have added to this site tremendously in just the past 4 years. Going from barely 8,000 stories to now verging on nearly 400,000 posts. It has been an interesting and fun ride over the past almost 9 years. Thanks to everyone that has walked through the big doors of USM.   |

I found this on the 2000 version of USM. It was written by Phe (I believe) for her USM Junkies website that handled all the profiles (tid-bits of info on each USM-er). It has the unique Phe humor, and I miss her. However her life is rolling along with her marriage in just a few days. Anyway, to the funny USM Junkies page ... "Once 2 people had an idea to create a web site dedicated to providing a place where stories about the paranormal can be place & read. After a little while it grew & grew until they had over 8000 stories. The people who frequent this site are bizarre in many ways & very unusual & they have abnormal rituals which involve the desire to write, read & chat with each other constantly. The ones in charge of this site go by the titles Admin, Admin2, Admin4, Admin5, JR Admin, XAdmin & C-Admin. As far as we know Admin is the ring leader with his trusty sidekick Admin2 bringing up the rear at all times. We have yet to decipher the code behind their titles but we have a crack team working on it at this very moment. Since this site is attracting more members regularly, we must warn you to tell your friends, tell your family ... & if THEY contact you at any time RUN!! Beware, no one can be trusted. What is this twisted organization which seems to be recruiting more people each day who then crave the social interaction with the group?!? They are better known to us as: .... USM Junkies" |

I had no clue that it started off like this in 1996... i Sorta remember it in 2002 when i first came to the site... but i had no clue there was a "Ask Jedi" column!! This was an awesome post and it's cool to know that i was apart of something for almost 4 great years!  |
