Tired eyed child-
Too young to be weary of life,
But,
Too near death to be truly young.
Expert in life’s unfairness-
In the cruelty of fate.
Live for a brief flash
In the arms of a mother
Whose memories are too few,
And whose tears are too many,
More than an ocean, in fact.
Smile when you can,
Though it’s a struggle.
Sleep peacefully,
Despite the pain.
Hope for tomorrow,
But know this-
For you, there is always an angel nearby,
Incase you need someone
To lead you home.
