well, the right thing to do here as most adults would say is not to go to the bar and wear revealing clothes at a bar. and that a bar is no place for a minor either way. but, If Iowa is anything like SC, and theres nothing else to do over there either, its better than being bored and sitting at home... although it isnt safer than sittin at home on the couch watchin reruns. |

In this day and age, in this country, you should be able to dress how you like and not fear a thing. Strange people are everywhere; dangerous people are dangerous no matter what you wear. Be smart while having fun and stay conscious of your sorroundings and don't be afraid. Fear clouds good judgement and that's always your best defense against personal paranoias. |

I feel that people of the opposite genders should be aware that no matter how a person is dressed, it is not an invitation to help yourself at any time unless it is approved by both parties involved. Looking is one thing, admiring is another thing, but to personally touch or attack one and then blame them for the way they dressed is not an option of an excuse to use for I am sorry I hurt you.. how would all of you behave say, if cavemen never found out how to cover themselves and we all walked around with scant fig leaves on??? I am appauled at the behavior of this society when it comes to this issue.. Media made it this way you guys.. television, advertisements, other minds that say this is how we want you to look out there, gimmicks.. I feel society should be ashamed of itself for the ways they think or view certain topics and issues in this world, these days. |

Im with you Sur5r. I dress how I like no matter where Im at (yes I follow dress codes) because thats how I like it and I dont feel I should have to follow a fashion or hide skin on my arms or legs etc just because. Honestly it is sad because I see a lot of people who try to hard to please the world. I also agree about no free invitation but some people think that way and thats what worries me...lol alright off to bed for me Im to buzzed on the diet coke (lol I try to drink my share since its a $3 rip off to begin with .) |

in some conturys some women have to cover up everything including their face and if not they get stonned to death it is horrible that people thinkt hey can treat a living human like that just because of their gender. well ok your grandma and BF are just worried because it is a bar you do this performance at it dose not sound like you are doing anything over the top. they are just conserned abnout the drunks because they can be very hard to reason with. if you stay with your BF and anyone else at all time no one will act strange this is all judt in the name of fun. if this is somthign you enjoy doing don't let anyone stop you. |

lol *must reply* yeah I usually do just my bf hates karaoke because the people there in our 'clique' he doesnt have much an interest in (hes from another town) and to top it off we're all 'artsy' people and he could care less bout the stuff so he doesnt always go . To top it off hes paranoid about some people in the group but none of them ever get drunk (very few drink to begin with) and all seem decent so yeah I dont worry around them honestly. Usually im with someone at all times its just occasionally like tonight where Id be alone in the parking lot that their worries really get to me . Okay to bed for real this time |

nobody should live in fear about wearing a certain type of clothing. people attacking someone or tryng to make a move that is inappropriate is very wrong and sick. those people need to get their head checked. they should have the proper respect and courtesy to respect everyone that is there to have a good time. |

No they shouldn't. They should be able to wear what they like and feel comfortable doing so...(",).. |

I feel like you should be able to wear what it is you want to wear unless you are a minor and your parents say otherwise. You shouldn't live in fear because of what you are wearing and if you are in fear for that reason, maybe it's your conscious telling you. |

In this day and age, you should be able to dress as you like. But I have to say, that where I come from, it is really sad to see the girls dressing the way they do. For an example...There was this young girl...maybe 13, walking through the store with her mom. She was wearing a fish net shirt with nothing underneath and a skirt if she bent over I was sure you could see everthing. I think it is sad that girls this day dont respect themselves enough to not reveal to much. My personal beliefe is the less you show the more attractive you are.

I don't think you should live in fear, but you should alwasy be aware of your surroundings and not put yourself in dnager. NO, your clthes hould not say, "Come on Take me!" BUT unfortunately there are those out there that don't go by any rules. Just stay aware and keep yourself safe. It is a good idea to not go into a parking lot alone at night. Hugs, |

I think personally that values come into play when it comes to clothing... espically party clothes... NO don't live in fear, but don't be ignorant of the messages that certain clothes carry either... |
