I saw a similar thing on a show about Indian mysticism (as in asian India)-- apparently in India they have these mystics, or charlatan, more like it, who go from village to village dazzling people with their ability to dangle from hooks inserted through their skin, and then getting money from them. So, to spoil the illusion, a group of people who were clearly not mystics went around the country demonstrating to people that when the hooks were inserted in the right place in the skin, that they, as well any person, could also dangle from them without discomfort or pain. I assume that's what these kids were doing. As to why-- well, maybe to be edgy, or to freak people out, or because they just enjoy inserting things through their skin.  |

When I went with my friend to her her tattoo, they had an article about people who hung from hooks. It was about 2 years ago, so I can't remember all of it. But, there is suppose to be one heck of a feeling (in a good way) when you do this. I don't look at it as being weird in anyway, I personally wouldn't want to do it. Oh, and it was adults who were doing this in the article, not kids.  |
