I get them when I am EXTREMELY upset. I never got them until I was pregnant. I shake really bad, I can't catch my breath, and I basically feel like I am dying. they are scary, but luckily I haven't had one in a while. |

I've never been diagnosed with panic attacks, but I do get quite a few of those symptoms. Sounds like its time for me to see the doctor. |

When I get panic attacks, it's mostly due to my claustrophobia. I'll start to feel like I can't breath and I'll start breathing really fast and heavy. The room will feel like it's closing in on me and I feel dizzy and light headed. |

I usually get that type of thing happening when I'm over tired and my mind wonders, it also gets really hard to sleep because it feels like my mind won't just shut off. |

I used to get those when I was a teenager. I always used to end up in the emergency room complaining of heart problems. I used to get rapid heartbeats, chest pain, shortness of breath, fear of something happening to me. I would wake up from my sleep with these symptoms it was awful. Then one day they dissapeared and I never had one again. I didn't do anything to stop it. ~Star Angel~ |

I have them also..they do suck. Just gotta talk to yourself when you feel like your about to have an attack. I just repeat to myself that I'm ok and everything is fine...I take deep breaths and I sit myself down. Hope you get through it! |

I suffered for many years with panic attacks and anxiety. Thankfully I have managed to ovrcome the problem and now lead a normal life. As a teachr in school with kids aged 11 - 18 years I see a lot of this sort of thing. I ahave actually written a book to help the kids overcome their problems...it has helped 90% of those who read it. I have posted the transcript here on USM.....here's the link and I hope it helps you....hugggsss...http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm270052.html |

I've had panic attacks for years, all the symptoms you listed. I've tried Paxil, Effexor, Zoloft, etc. They can help reduce the attacks and overall anxiety, but after a few months they all leave me feeling in a fog, and I just can't tolerate that. See a doctor, or do online research into non-medicinal help. You are certainly not alone. |

I used to get these when I was in my teens. It would start with me feeling like I couldn't breath because my chest was too tight, then my hands and lips would feel numb and tingly and I would get really dizzy and would panic because I was afraid that I was dying. After contacting the doctor a couple of times, they diagnosed it as a panic attack. Once they reassured me that I wasn't going to die from it, I relaxed, and they pretty much dropped off after that. Guess my fear of death was the cause of my anxiety. Funny though. |

I used to get them a few months ago. I can't remember all of my symptoms because I'd rather not remember them, but I do remember feeling like I couldn't breathe and had to breathe into a paper bag to relax me. The only thing that happens to me now is I get this pressure on my chest, like it feels there's an elephant sitting on it. Usually when I get like that, I try to figure out what I'm anxious about and deal with it directly. The only reason I don't get anxiety attacks anymore is because I talked out my problems/stresses and did something about them. The attacks won't go away until you solve something. |

If its stress related...I would suggest Lavender. Lavender is wonderful for stress relief. Lavender flowers, essential oils, laveder bath water. It has MAGNIFICENT sress relieving abilites, not to mention smells pretty darn good. |

I get dizzy, I feel paranoid, my heart races, I get sweaty and my hands start to shake, sometimes it leads to an asthama attack(I have stress related asthama). |

i'm fairly antisocial and hate large groups, but i don't get actual attacks. just count one, two, three and do what ya gotta do. i did have one once getting on an airplane though. i felt i was envisioning my death and willingly going on it. it felt like a heart attack..rapid heart beat, perspiring profusely..shaky..etc. i almost didn't get on the plane..but, as i said..one two three works in jumping off high dives and taking care of panic attacks 8-) |
