It all varies from state to state..your best bet would to be to all the prosecutor and see if they have enough evidence to file formal charges.... |

I am so sorry to hear that something like this happened to you. Definitely follow the advice of Pyriel and call the local law enforcement agency. At the risk of sounding bad, a lot of what happens from now can depend on you. If you are strong enough to stand up and say what happened to you, then the chances of something happening to him are greater. Just know that you have people around you, and on here, that care about you and are there for support when you need it. I'll be praying for God to help see you through this tough time in your life. May God bless you. -DeltaRebel |

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I don't know about in America but in Australia if he was found guilty he would be sentenced to atleast some gaol time and then he would be registered as a sex offender. On release he would be given a restraining order to keep him away from you and would have to authorise police of anywhere he moved. He would not be allowed to live near schools or places where lots of children play. |

Try calling the district attorney. They are usually very nice and are very willing to help you. My other advice is if he has been convicted, go to your search engine and put in whatever state you are in and convicted felons or your state and convicted sexual predators. If your state is legally allowed to put it on the net, you can find the info easily. Let me know if you need any help! |

Jail time is possible for him, if he's found guilty. You may have to testify against him for this to happen though. If it's his first offense, he'll most likely and unfortunately get a VERY light sentence. So long as you've given them all the information needed both with physical evidence, your version of events and the medical records...they'll probably have a good chance of prosecuting him. |
