Long blonde hair, well sometimes it was short. Skinny, extremely tall for her age. Beautiful, charming, a great smile with the work of orthodontists and braces. Yep. That was her. Lindsay Lee Savage.Born April 25, 1985 and let me tell ya it was a great day for her older sisters and her parents. She was always a nice girl, very athletic, true to her friends. No matter if she was sad, happy, mad, or angry, she always fooled you with that smile on her face. She didnt change as she got older. And most teenagers go through that phase of not listening to their parents, nope not Lindz. I didn't see her much, except at family reunions, and I saw her a lot when I was maybe three, but I don't remember much. Last time I saw her was when I was 12, for a family reunion. Her and her sisters played with us in the pool, braided our hair, they acted like they were our age and didn't go run off with the adults. That's what really stood out to me. She was 16, but she hung out with all her younger cousins. She wasn't shy to talk infront of a group of people, or to help anyone out.. and I could go on and on. You should have been at her memorial. There were more people there than there were at my pappy's funeral, and he was well known. They hung a picture of her at the memorial, outstanding picture of her. Shining blonde hair, white perfect smile. And all these years Iw ished I had called her or wrote her a letter to say "Hey cuz! What's up? How ya been?" and "I love ya Lindz!" But I didn't get to say goodbye. She meant so much to not only our family, but her friends, other relatives, teachers, coaches. She had volleyball scholarships, and was an outstandind teamate and player like her sisters who were excellent at Volleyball. I remember at the memorial(Which was this year in April)the people she worked with from Red Lobster were all there. Every single one of them. And you know what they made? Little pins with beads on them that had an L in the middle. And if you attended that memorial, you would see everyone wearing one of those. And I still have mine today. Wear it on her birthday, and I wear it on her death.
Lindsay was a remarkable person and she will always be a remarkable person to us. She looked at the world with open eyes and always had her arms wide open to the world to meet new people and make new friends. She has motivated me, and inspired me to look at the world differently. Do all that you can do. Be the best you can be!!! She is my hero.. my rollmodel.. my inspiration... and my beloved, beautiful, and missed cousin. This is for you Lindz. I love you.
