I am reading a book about a young girl who lost her mother really young and how she really has no one to look up to as her father is very stern and stand offish. Their housekeeper is somewhat of a friend, but not really what this little girl needs.
I got to thinking about people who have made a difference in my life. There have been many. I am fortunate to have grown up with my parents intact and did not lose my mother until I was an adult and had children of my own. At 84, my father still lives on, healthier than many of us.
Is there a special someone in your life, outside USM, that had or has made a remarkable difference in your life? It could be a friend, a teacher, a spouse.
I would like to challenge each one of us to think hard and then write a piece to share with USMers. I would suggest putting your story in the "In Recognition of" category. That sounds like a good spot.
Well, I am off to think about that special someone and to read more of my book. I will do a review on it when I am finished. I heard about it on Martha Stewart and thought I would check it out. The more I read, the more I am determined that I want to write a book, as well.
Maybe I need to thank my English teachers over the years for that quest.
Happy writing! and as Kronk says, "Write on!"
Love, Hugs and Butterfly Kisses,
