Try the Fury... they are big black dogs... maybe like a giant pitbull. There eyes glow yellow. They gaurd the gate to hell... usually show up when some ones about to die. Dont take my words as truth though, thats only what ive read  |

I'm not REAL familiar with "Hell Hounds" but from what I can remember, they usually are brought to this plane by "someone else" and are used to drag quarry back to hell. Perhaps the quarry was a spirit in the old house.??  |

These dogs guard the entrance to Hades, and there may be connections with the Egyptian dog-headed god Annubis, who conducted souls to the Underworld |

I wonder if you and your boyfriend had stumbled near an old ancient burial ground that the dog was protecting, and had to manifest itself for you both to keep a distance. I really get the image of this dog protecting something.. yet, trusting your thoughts you were not there to harm anything. |

thanks for the replies. they did help a little, but what I saw and what my boyfriend has seen in the past were dogs that were the size of deer and they had yellow eyes though the one i saw didn't show his eyes even though he was looking towards me. anyone ever hear of the ghost called carolina in southwest wisconsin? my boyfriend has seen the hell dogs guarding her soul. he has heard that the dogs are there to make sure she doesn't leave. |

Carolina haunts an old mine shafts in shulsburg, wisconsin. the story behind carolina is that she fell into a mine shaft. there is more too the story but it's a long story so if you want to hear the rest of carolina's story just msg me. |

Interesting. Would one of these chase of people that venture into haunted structures? There is a factory near where I live that I have heard is haunted and a strange creature that guards it and chases off people that linger for too long. |

Yes, I do believe that they will chase you off if you stay long enough. The dogs are there to gaurd the ghost that haunts an area. The dogs want the ghost to stay there and they don't want humans around because the ghost may get curious and follow the human out of the place, so the dogs chase you off to prevent that from happening. |
