Do you bring your personal life to USM?

  Author:  36704  Category:(Discussion) Created:(7/14/2004 3:44:00 PM)
This post has been Viewed (1397 times)

Since I've been at USM I've noticed that some people write almost daily posts at USM detailing their life. I think I know more about them then people I've known for most my life. They write about every little thing in their life or at least it seems that way. It's not that I care that they write the posts I can choose to read them and reply or not, I just wondered what compelled them to make such personal posts for a bunch of strangers to read. Do you make many personal posts or do you geneally leave your personal life off of USM?

Date: 7/14/2004 3:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 33573    I don't really write about my personal things on here. I don't thikn it's really that I don't want anyone to know, I am just too lazy to type it all ;P
Date: 7/14/2004 3:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    I will share my personal life if it applies to a post that I'm replying to or if I feel it may help that person in some way. I don't generally create posts of a personal nature or ones that ask for advice. Some people are just very open with their feelings and lives and others are lonely or have no one to talk too. It's great that USM gives people that connection they seek.
Date: 7/14/2004 3:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 26363    No, only the odd problem but nothing really personal. I don't wanna bog peeps down with all my probs!
Date: 7/14/2004 3:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    laziness huh, lol amanda
Date: 7/14/2004 3:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I'll do that also You Choose and I have made posts asking for advice but not that many in the time that I've been here. I guess it's good that people have someplace to tell people their life story.
Date: 7/14/2004 3:54:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I think a lot of people feel the way you do Morning Glory and then there's the other side.....
Date: 7/14/2004 3:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 58308    i don't think so. i have written about my son and the problems we've had with his bi-polar, but nothing too personal, I don't think. *shrugs*
Date: 7/14/2004 4:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    To be honest, I get a little irritated, and I'm not sure why, I guess it's just my personality, but when people post up about every little thing they do. I think it's a waste of space to have someone make a post about getting a cell phone...yeah ok, join the other million people in the world that bought a cell phone today, they're not off tellin people about it. But hey, whatever floats their boats I guess.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    I sometimes bring my personal life to USM...but rarely to answer your question.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    nothing wrong with writing about that Zeebs
Date: 7/14/2004 4:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I had a poptart for breakfast goat
Date: 7/14/2004 4:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    Really? I think I'll quickly make a post. "I just had cereal for breakfast, and it changed my life dramatically. So tell me USM, what did you have for breakfast?"
Date: 7/14/2004 4:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    hey goat, join the millions of other Americans who had cereal for breakfast
Date: 7/14/2004 4:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    I do, and at one point probably too much. I will write about things that are going wrong and how weve got thru it. If that helps someone else then I can deal with some thinking Im too open.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    I write about GENERAL things that are going on in my life..Like my job, things with my kids..things like that..I dont write about PERSONAL things..that is noone's business but my own..LOL
Date: 7/14/2004 4:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    Update! I just scratched my head.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    There's a difference there though DMK and LL. Things like that are fine I think. I get irritated when someone posts everytime they sneeze.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    Hey Goat as long as its not snowing on a picture you just drew all is fine LOL. (if you dont get that I am really showing my age)
Date: 7/14/2004 4:14:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I'm not talking major life issues DMk I'm talking detailing your daily life, what time you woke up, ate breakfast, what time you went to bed etc., if you start making posts about your daily routine everyday I may start to worry.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 44960    If I wrote everything about my personal life here on USM, the main computer at USM would blow sky high!! (((PrissieHuggzz)))
Date: 7/14/2004 4:16:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I've read your posts LL not what I was talking about lol, see my comment to DMK
Date: 7/14/2004 4:16:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    now you can brush the dandruff off your shoulders and update us on how that goes goat
Date: 7/14/2004 4:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    lol ms. priss you know you want to
Date: 7/14/2004 4:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    Update, I checked my shirt for flakes, and there were none, I'm clear of dandruff. woot...woot.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 1631    People who write about every tiny minute detail of their every day existence irritate me. They are labeled dramatic attention seekers in my book. Ex: "I had to WALK to school today! OMG! Then I wanted fat free ranch dressing today and all they had was REGULAR ranch!!!! I wanted to cry. Tomorrow I will tell you about how I fed my dog and was so embarrassed because I had to blow my nose in CLASS!" Annoying as heck and I can't believe they think we actually care.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    Amen ALI
Date: 7/14/2004 4:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    Ali, dude I've missed you, you understand what I'm saying, I call them attention somethings but it's not g rated...my phone just rang but I didn't answer it
Date: 7/14/2004 4:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    ROFLMAO!! Ali you are so bad!
Date: 7/14/2004 4:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 58334    No, unless it's some important information or pertains to my post in some way. Otherwise I don't think anyone would be interested.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 61977    My daily activities I do not share too much with USM. Many things personal in nature I really do not share too much. I may write my poetry and let out my cries, pain and tragedies there. I too get annoyed with hearing about the little things. I mean if you are bored your bored right. Sometimes I feel at times I should share more with all of you as I had in the past just had not gotten the nerve back up. This is an excellent post that sure as heck needed to be done there Base. Thankies. HUGS & BLESSINGS,
Date: 7/14/2004 4:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 50499    I try not to. My personal is my business and I really wouldn't want to bore anyone with the details of it...
Date: 7/14/2004 4:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    "I dropped a piece of paper in the hallway today, and I was like omg, and everyone was like omg too and then i was like, and they were like, and I was just like omg. I was so embarassed! What would you have done?"
Date: 7/14/2004 4:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    nimiwae I don't think most people do it but there are some...
Date: 7/14/2004 4:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I'm pretty sure I woulda had to just end it all right then Goat *hugs*
Date: 7/14/2004 4:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    No really, we're all interested in what kind of dental floss you use DF and how many times a day you floss
Date: 7/14/2004 4:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    maybe it is because they're bored ML or maybe there's some other reason?
Date: 7/14/2004 4:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 5229    *hugglies base* and to top it all off, my brandnew cell phone rang and i broke a nail trying to answer it then i realized i didnt know how to use a phone to begin with *hugglies*
Date: 7/14/2004 4:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 50499    Hey! I was just trying to get some ideas on how to control the problem
Date: 7/14/2004 4:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 61977    No life I guess...or crying out to be heard and listened to because maybe no one else will...I donno...LOL
Date: 7/14/2004 4:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    maybe mother love lol
Date: 7/14/2004 4:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    *hugs* goat I'm sorry, maybe you should sue the phone maker for your lost nail *hugs*
Date: 7/14/2004 4:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    aww DF I'm not talking about any of your posts here lol
Date: 7/14/2004 4:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 1631    I've missed you too, Base. (No hugglies from me because I'm not the hugglie kind, thanks) I was thinking of another word too that rhymes with s'mores, but I figured "seekers" would be more appropriate in this forum...
Date: 7/14/2004 4:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 53284    Sometimes, but nothing too personal.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I've made a few posts concerning really private issues in my life and have no clue why I made those posts. I hate knowing someone can look through my posts and learn a lot about me, yet never even had a conversation with me. I don't look down on those that feel like they need to post those kinds of posts either, because everyone is different and what one person considers a small problem, another considers it big.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:38:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    that'd be the same word I use Ali, I know what you mean about the hugs, it makes me throw up a little
Date: 7/14/2004 4:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    your one story in embarassing moments cracked me up wild bob lol
Date: 7/14/2004 4:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    and some people read it and wish that was all the problems they had in their life, some people need to learn to appreciate the good things in their life and not just focus on the bad Bethann, thanks for the comment
Date: 7/14/2004 4:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    You know, when I think about it, some people are just desperate for attention..ANY kind of attention..They will do anything to receive it..and sometimes posting ridiculous stories is one of those ways I think..I dunno..
Date: 7/14/2004 4:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    Base, if you started making posts about mydaily routine everyday "I" would start to worry LOL. I do get what youre saying :P
Date: 7/14/2004 4:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    Wow Ali good to see ya.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:46:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    if I ever get to that point DMK shoot me and put me outta my misery
Date: 7/14/2004 4:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    maybe LL, they could be desperate for attention, or bored, lonely a lot of different reasons but I don't think they're gonna reply to my post to tell us why they do it lol
Date: 7/14/2004 4:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    LOL..Base I dont think so either..It would be interesting though to have someone reply and explain why they feel the need to "unload" their whole life onto USM..Its sad really..It makes me wonder what they are lacking at home.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 7819    Sure, I'll post something if im needing to vent or if im seeking some advice. I see nothing wrong with it if USM is considered "family" But most of my venting posts are through poetry, I dont really write out my personal life in discussion. Although I have a couple of times.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:54:00 PM  ( Admin-FA )   Hey Ali... I think I used to bring my personal life to USM.. but I have so much personal issues and drama in my life.. I'd be like Ms. Priss, lol..
Date: 7/14/2004 4:55:00 PM  ( Admin-FA )   By the way.. Base! I just got back from driving.. and the road was really long.. I almost hit Bambi yesterday in the middle of the road but that's okay because I decided to go to Walmart.. and I bought a pair of shoes and a shirt.. then I went out to eat.. haha..
Date: 7/14/2004 4:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I can't believe how close-minded some of you are. Is it someone's fault for having an easier life than you, so they know of nothing else but to take what you have for granted? Being a complainer of small things or being someone that makes fun of the complainer, I'd rather be the complainer.
Date: 7/14/2004 4:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    hey you could turn that into four posts FA
Date: 7/14/2004 4:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    thanks for the comment Shadow Dragon
Date: 7/14/2004 4:59:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    aren't you being closed minded for calling us close minded, it's not a bad thing to focus on the positives in your life rather than only on the negatives

Date: 7/14/2004 5:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 50499    Well if you really Lady Sis I could unload my whole life onto here but I'm afraid wouldn't take much space and I would have to unload would cause a severe outbreak of boredom...lol
Date: 7/14/2004 5:06:00 PM  ( Admin-FA )   Maybe I will Base.. Too bad George won't get rid of the 2 hour posting limit... *cries*
Date: 7/14/2004 5:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I took that into consideration as I was typing out the reply, Base. I'm sure my comments on this post weren't much appreciated by those that were commenting to this, so all I really have to do is remain quiet and let you all have your fun...
Date: 7/14/2004 5:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    dude two hour posting limit, best thing that ever happened to USM got rid of a lot of the people that made pointless posts like this one lol
Date: 7/14/2004 5:12:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    your comments are more than welcome on this post Bethann, I understand that sometimes people need to unload and they have no where else to go, or that sometimes people just need to get things off their chest and there's nothing wrong with that whether the problem is big or small, I just think that if some people could see how good they have it and not nit pick at every detail in their life, they'd find that overall they'd be a lot happier
Date: 7/14/2004 5:14:00 PM  ( Admin-FA )   I'm going to twist Bethann's reply around.. some people actually come to USM may post their daily life.. daily.. *shrugs* but some of those people may have no one to talk to.. I don't know..
Date: 7/14/2004 5:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    I think it is comforting to some that they are able to unload a days craziness to people they feel they may never meet and to those they can ignore by the simple click on the delete button. I think it is great for people to be able to come on everyday and just unload.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 47865    I don't bring my personal problems to USM simply because no one knows me, so how can anyone give me advice without knowing the situation in excrutiating detail.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 53157    I have made a few personal posts well that werent really personal. But some people like to get everything out because maybe they have no one to talk to and there lonely.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    it may be comforting Kurt Vedder but I'm not sure how detailing your daily events is comforting, sure talking about something that's bothering you yeah but telling people what time you woke up, ate breakfast etc. I'm not sure how that's comforting
Date: 7/14/2004 5:23:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    Ash please stop bringing logic to discussions and debates
Date: 7/14/2004 5:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    If they have noone to share it with it could be. Who are we to stop those doing what makes then comfortable. I would rather read a million of those posts than another "I'm going to leave USM because noone likes me here" posts.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    maybe Lita, thanks for the comment
Date: 7/14/2004 5:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    yeah but the same people who use USM as their daily journal are the same ones who make the I'm leaving posts
Date: 7/14/2004 5:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 47865    Sorry Base
Date: 7/14/2004 5:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    and I don't really care what kind of posts people make, the I'm leaving or the online journal, I just find it odd
Date: 7/14/2004 5:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    I just feel that it's not my place to complain about these people because ultimatly we all have to make decisions on how we conduct our lives as well as our cyber lives. If that's the way they want to use this site then all the power to them.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:36:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    lol Ash but what you said makes sense
Date: 7/14/2004 5:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I still don't think it's healthy for someone to do that online or in real life Kurt
Date: 7/14/2004 5:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    But then again what time is it in America right now. Is it healthy to be up at that time of the night using the computer instead of sleeping?
Date: 7/14/2004 5:45:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I'm the same as USM time so I would think yeah it's pretty normal.
Date: 7/14/2004 5:49:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    it could be an age thing also Kurt a lot of the ones who do it are younger so maybe they don't know what else to post about
Date: 7/14/2004 5:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    *Sniff* So you DON'T want to know about how I had to cut all my nails off? LOL
Date: 7/14/2004 5:55:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    lol that's gonna depend on how humorous you make the post Becky
Date: 7/14/2004 5:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    Oh well um....Nah...I'll pass...I could put humor into the situation but WHY? It's such a horrible situation to be put in!....For me atleast So I try not to make light of losing my nails
Date: 7/14/2004 5:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hello Base I guess the "GO" word here might be "detailed." I try not to get too detailed in my posts. If someone asks me, I might loosen up a bit, but usually I try to keep it general..Of course..I am not beyond "reading" the detailed ones and offering up advice or my own brand of comfort. (for what it's worth) Guess it depends on my mood. Write on....
Date: 7/14/2004 6:00:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    you could always go for an In memory post for your nails, we all know how attached you were to them
Date: 7/14/2004 6:03:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    always good to see your comments Kronk, thanks for stopping by
Date: 7/14/2004 6:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    LOL One time I broke a nail and I took a picture of it and emailed it to a bunch of people LOL...Yeah yeah yeah I'm pathetic I know it LOL
Date: 7/14/2004 6:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 31255    I think I tend to keep most stuff to myself. I even sometimes don't want to share posts about big things that are happening in my life... positive or negative...
Date: 7/14/2004 6:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    YEP becky that picture of your broken fingernail, was .....well it made my day. LOL
Yes I do bring some of my personal life to the posts from time to time, I think we all do, or at least most of us.NOW if ya want to hear about my day, I did eight loads of laundry, felt like a shuttle bus for the grandkids, swept the floor eighteen times, have a abcessed tooth and a nasty headach, really NEED to get to the dentist, cooked supper, typed up papers for my dad that has me bored to no end and I still have ten pages left that HAVE to be done tonight. Still need to do my dishes from supper, and make a phone call to one of the kids letting them know they have to work tomorrow. LOL, Ok. I'm good for today. OH and my daughter in law zan is pregnant again, so please ya'll have good thought that she will in fact pack this baby as they dont have any kids yet and really really want one. She lost the last one.

Date: 7/14/2004 6:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    lol too MUCH information huh? LOL
Date: 7/14/2004 6:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I've noticed that about you Toodles
Date: 7/14/2004 6:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    yeah way to much info if you did it on a daily basis FB lol, I think almost everyone here has asked for advice at one time or another it's a good way to get a lot of opinions in one shot, congrats to your daughter in law, I hope everything goes well
Date: 7/14/2004 6:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 160    When I first came to USM about 5 years ago, I posted something very personal. The next day I panicked and asked Ginger to delete that comment. I have learned that some people and it's usually the younger crowd post every detail of their existence and that’s fine, there’s always people that will read and reply. I stay away from those posts. Then there are those that post things that happen and ask for advice or input from others and that’s also good and works well for some people. Now, I use whatever time I have on USM to try and helpful. Or if someone has or is presently going through something that I have gone through I don't mind talking about it. My philosophy is that if something good can be gleaned from what another may divulge then, there should be no problem. But then there are those posts where people play with the emotions of the well in tenders and outright lie to bait others to get reactions. So whatever you read here you have to filter through and take out what you know is nonsense and use what you know to be helpful. .
Date: 7/14/2004 6:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 25756    I write a LOT about boys I likebecause it's nice to hear what others think. other than that....not so much. It also feels safer in a way (no one laughing at you-that you can see!!) and you get a much broader point of view from people you don't know.
Date: 7/14/2004 7:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 50434    It depends on the topic. Seeing USM is such a large community you can get a variety of helpful tips or advise. But I will have to agree some people put up some useless posts about things they did that day.
Date: 7/14/2004 7:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    Well, Not at USM. At another site ThAT is a different story. I tell, at times, a little more than I should. But, I don't go around writing a post everytime I drop the kids off at the pool. Just funny things that happen. Or irritating things. Or, stupid things Eddo did the night before.
Date: 7/14/2004 7:13:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    people here would never bait pamy jo lol

Date: 7/14/2004 7:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    Or "I'LL BE BACK IN 2 SECONDS WHILE I PICK MY WEDGIE!!!!!!!1"
Date: 7/14/2004 7:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 52155    On a more serious note, Pammy is right about it generally being the younger USM'ers that post every detail, and frankly I think it makes them easier targets for those that would prey on them. It scares me to see how much info some of these kids out out there...
Date: 7/14/2004 7:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    lol @ eddo and carrie, some of them do give out way too much info eddo and it could make them easy targets
Date: 7/14/2004 7:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 1631    If some people need to display their personal lives on the net for all to see, I guess that's there prerogitive but it's not for me. What kills me is the people who have to make multiple posts a day about all the droll little things they've done in their day. It's so ridiculous to see one post titled "Bye USM, I'm going to the Mall for an hour", another one titled "Hi USM, I'm back from the Mall. Did you miss me?!?!" and a third titled "Guess what store I shopped at today!" all within the space of an afternoon. It's shallow and lame...
Date: 7/14/2004 8:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 59371    No very personal posts for me. I usually only make detailed posts of my weird dreams and the occasional boy problem but other than that, no personal life posting.
Date: 7/14/2004 8:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 28193    Base, last night a lightening bug got inside my house. The lights were off in my house, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was. One of my cats saw it, and she freaked out. It landed on the floor, and I smashed it with some newspaper, and that glowing thingy stayed lit! OMG..LOL..true story.
Date: 7/14/2004 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    Ditto what MS Priss said
Date: 7/14/2004 9:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    Base I wouldn't worry about this post. Maybe we're all a little jealous as it has gained over 100 responses! lol! As Kronk says "Write on!" And I add, "Whatever trips your trigger!"
Date: 7/14/2004 9:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    BTW - Personally; In our house we use Scott Toilet Tissue. Just an FYI in case anyone is interested That's about as exciting as it gets! lol!
Date: 7/14/2004 11:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    I do and I don't, some things I just find so darn fascinating and I gather that maybe it isn't as exciting to others. I do random things (funny somebody said it somewhere in the replies, haven't read them all) like feed my dog and have random adventure just doing that. There was this cricket in my house that was just going crazy when I was opening Buddy's can (George is in the afternoon, details details) and I couldn't find the bugger no matter how hard I tried, and don't ask me why but it made me think of that movie the Gate, and that UL about construction dudes being left inside of a wall and I was wondering if like this loud cricket was chillin' with the constuction worker dude inside of one one of our walls...am I ramblin..yeah, did I reply...yeah. Is this a good post...yeah. yeah uh huh
Date: 7/15/2004 12:05:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    There's a lot of boy problem posts on this site Zenn lol

Date: 7/15/2004 1:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 28190    I very rarely post on here anymore, unless its about something I really want to share. lol.. I guess if ya were to check out my posts you could see that most my posts are about events in my life or just fun posts. I do share my life with USM, dont know how personal I get, because what I consider being personal, may be a totally different thing to someone else. Basically, I can list the things I have shared here, My wedding, the time I was in the hospital, and My pregnancy (which mom posted-lol) So I dont think I get too personal.. lmao.. Its late here, hope Im answering this right ... I know that it does get a bit redundant when people post about every little thing they do in life, but then again I just choose not to read them *hugs to ya Base*
Date: 7/15/2004 1:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 51070    People actually do that? LOL. Maybe there should be a diary section on this site.
Date: 7/15/2004 5:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 30229    I bring some personal stuff to USM... It has to be major, I hate the "DETAIL" posts... I could care LESS how often someone goes potty, or swimming, ... Personal issues I have brought here has been Big issues, Amanda's wedding, gonna be mamaw again, things of that nature. I will be honest about goings on in my life if asked, and I will post if something major is going on and I want to share it with my friends, otherwise, details on my daily life would bore yall to tears... lol.
Date: 7/15/2004 5:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 160    Base is trying to bait me!
Date: 7/15/2004 8:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 54968    No, I usually don't make personal posts just incase someone from my family gets on here and reads them.
Date: 7/15/2004 10:13:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I usually don't read them either amanda or if I do I don't reply.
Date: 7/15/2004 10:14:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    people actually do it creepy freak, maybe they could have a journal section or somewhere for them to post that people can check that section off if they don't want to read the posts
Date: 7/15/2004 10:16:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    lol Pamy Jo I would never do that
Date: 7/15/2004 10:16:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    almost everyone writes posts about something in their life at somepoint Gail, about an event or something that happened, it's just the people who write four and five a day that I think are a little much
Date: 7/15/2004 10:17:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    that's a good reason for not writing them sporti angel
Date: 7/15/2004 10:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 13119    I don't reply to the attention seeking posts but you know what, they have the right to do them, obviously some people like them and reply to them. Whatever floats your boat, ridiculing those people is not appropriate however.
Date: 7/15/2004 1:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 52155    ^^would rather we ridicule her instead.... :P
Date: 7/15/2004 1:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    A lot of times the ones who make those stories end up not getting a lot of replies Magoo and then make posts about not getting a lot of replies which eventually leads to an I'm leaving post because no one cares about me
Date: 7/15/2004 2:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 52155    NO Base! Don't leave! We LOVE you!!
Date: 7/15/2004 2:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    *cries* no one cares
Date: 7/15/2004 4:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    I am guilty of this.. I have made several venting posts in my time here. But I have to be pretty upset to post things like that. Its kind of embarrassing later after I've calmed down that I've posted such personal things. I don't mind reading personal posts, but every little petty detail is just too much..
Date: 7/15/2004 6:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 62675    Sometimes I do or I will mention little tidbits here and there. Depends on the situation! -Sunni
Date: 7/15/2004 8:33:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    you're not one that does it snookums you either sunni
Date: 7/16/2004 7:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 13119    I understand what you are saying BASE but seriously, although it is annoying as all heck and sometimes I get sucked in to them, it isn't that big a deal for me. Some people are just drama queens and have to have attention. (EDDO)
Date: 7/16/2004 9:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 52155    I resent it being insinuated that I am a drama queen. I am a pretty princess, thank you very much...
Date: 7/16/2004 10:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 53961    Scoot TP is good for tears Base...
Date: 7/16/2004 10:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 13119    EDDO if anyone is a Queen it is you your highness. May your reign be long and fruitful!
Date: 7/17/2004 4:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 160    Is it possible that people want to put their feelings out there because of insecurity and this may be the only way that they can see how others view them? Just a thought.
Date: 7/17/2004 8:12:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704    I wouldn't know anything about that paula and could be pamy jo.
Date: 12/21/2005 9:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 16376    Some what yes. But nothing too personal.
