Items that are not taxed, are usually marked up for someone to pay a little more for it, no... I am not jealous, Lol.. even when I pay taxes on something, it at times, comes out that I still do not pay as much as one who feels they are getting the better deal by not paying taxes (-:  |

On bases the costs are lowered not raised, its a perk of serving your country. As for your question, I figure it out all the time in my head and keep a running total as I shop. (15% tax)  |

i can get pretty close while i'm shopping. of course i get it exact with a calculator!! i try to do most of my big shopping in virginia where tax is 4.50%. i live in tennessee and our tax is 8.25%. that's a big difference on large items.  |
