"Ghoul".....kronk

Pale-moon bathes the coastal moors-

Fell creature, seeking violence-

Shuddered-windows...Bolted doors-

Loud scratching...Maddening silence-

"Shared the ground with your kith and kin"

Familiar, yet strange voice, calling-

"Release the lock and let me in.

Lack of faith...the tears are falling"

Implanted memories..longing, yearning-

Loved ones that are no more.

Behind blue eyes, red eyes are burning-

My trembling hands open the door.

(Radiance...The smell of her. Just as I remember!) "My love...After all the long years, you have returned to me."

A wanton smile..a reaching hand-

Hauled-out into the night-

Futile cries to god and man-

"So hopeless is my plight!"

A fetid hole..The cold, hard earth-

Smell of death and decay-

Too short, the span 'tween end and birth-

"So heavy, is the clay."

I am flattered that you wonder about the how's and why's...."O'dark in the control center. Most everyone is "resting." I'm dwelling on the unusual silence. (like a tomb) Flare stack (high-pressure steam) rumbles at short intervals, for a couple of minutes, then quiet again...A walk outside. Partial moon, garish, artificial, glow of the silver-steel world. A cigarette smoldering in the smoke bucket. Mists on the bayou. A childhood friend. We were parted too soon. A reunion of sorts, I suppose." Ahhhhhhhhh.....Thank you for asking, my lady

Date: 7/11/2004 5:59:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 21435    Hi, Brenda I'm such a fickle thing. At times, all it takes is the slightest breath of wind to move me and at other times, a flock of angels. Thanks for stopping in, my friend..
Date: 7/13/2004 5:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 46320    Love is never gone just buried sometimes. I loved the images in this, coming from beyond to claim her love. Be Good...
Date: 7/13/2004 8:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 56840    Hahahaa!! For some reason this reminds me of the phrase "something under the bed is drooling". Hmm, there are things we are glad we don't know about, because otherwise we'd be petrified with terror. Hehehe, nicely dark connotations in this one.. Keep writing, oh crazy one..
