sometimes it takes longer than three weeks for medications to fully take effect, but talk to your Dr. about it |

I'm not a Doctor, but it may not be the right medication for you. Risperdal is usually used on people who have Schizophrenia, Insomnia, and at times to "boost" and anti-depressant like Prozac. I mean used together. Base is right sometimes it does take longer for the effects to work. The bad thing is that Doctors are finding that anxiety and Panic Attacks are one of the hardest conditions to treat. Because the medications that they do use for it tend to be addictive, so they are trying to use other methods like Prozac and Risperdal. But I would go ahead and talk to your Doctor, if you aren't feeling any better. *hugs* |

Oh and they also used Risperdal for Bi-Polar and Borderline Personality Disorders. I just remembered. I hope I have helped. *hugs* |

sounds a bit like what i went through, try paxil at 10mg and see if that help. I took it for a year for panic attacks them weened myself off by halfing the dose and have been off of it for over 2 years and havent had and attack since. If you want medical advice my bro works with a company Eli Lilly and I can talk to him for you. Just message me if you want with the exact problem. Good luck! |

(((hugs))) This is such a hard thing to deal with. I battle anxiety on a daily basis...depression also but I am dealing with it. I am limited to what I can take for depression(alot of meds trigger my heart condition) so I just say forget it and deal with it any way I can. I do take Xanax(which is addictive) but only when I feel an attack coming on or excitedness OR when I know I am going to be coming in to a situation that I know will cause some anxiety. There used to be this drug(was my one and only miracle drug...altho there is never really a miracle drug) called Serzone that battled both conditions...I loved it but had to quit taking that because after its release, they were finding it was causing tons of liver damage in people. Go figure. As others have said, talk to your dr and it may take months to find the drug that is just right for you. Hang in there, the only way is up |

Perhaps its not having an effect cause its not worked it's way into your system yet, this is why it is important to remember to take it as prescribed. Did you up the dosage yourself or did your Dr recommend that? If it is prescribed to alter your moods then it must be taken as prescribed and given proper time to work its way into your system. If you aren't taking it correctly then it can be harmful to your mental well-being. Go back to your Dr. and tell him what you are experiencing. Get one of those pill carriers with an alarm on it and carry it with you at all times. Hope things get better for you. |
