Well here it is, my first year as a FT student in College. (Yikes)

I have just lined up and scheduled out all of my courses, and I am a NERVOUS WRECK!

I will be in school four days out of the week, I am taking a total of 15 credits in the first semester, which is five classes. Three of them are Gordon Rule classes which require 3000, 3000, and 6000 written words to complete the courses and pass.

I am SO excited! and SO nervous!

My classes are ;

Frashman English, American National Government, Humanities Survery, Teaching Diverse Populations, & Intro To Microcomputers

WHEW!

Any tips form our resident College Students???

Date: 7/8/2004 8:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 3688    3-ring binders and looseleaf paper are your FRIEND....make sure to get blue,black, and red ink pens as well as pencils, don't worry you'll do fine i took a few semesters of 16-18 credit hours and i made it so i know you can
Date: 7/8/2004 8:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 11097    First off congrats! ... don't be nervous, you'll do great! For two years I have been taken 12 credits over 5 days a week...it was hard at first but I got used to it. Freshman English was good, most english classes where I go require research papers and essays throughout the course, government sounds interesting and so does humanities, I am not too sure about Teaching Diverse Populations but it sounds like a good course and microcomputers should be a cool class... I haven't taken any computer classes yet, but tons of english classes so if you need any help in english, let me know! good luck!
Date: 7/8/2004 9:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 47218    Things that I learned from my first semester: take advantage of the learning resources that the college offers it's students. If there is an undergraduate writing center (there usually is) take your first essay in there to have it reviewed. If you are in a class that offers study groups, be sure to attend. Writing a college essay is different from high school. Professors want to see specific examples. Pay attention to the examples that your professors use in class and take notes of them. Memorize them so you can bring them up on the test. Above all, have faith in yourself. You'll do fine!
Date: 7/8/2004 9:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU DID THIS! So happy I had to use the ol' caps. School's last semester of me being on campus will be August thru December, I'm so happy you made this decision! My best advice is just pace yourself. If you get a deadline that is say 2 weeks from now, DO NOT wait until then, do a little increment at a time
Date: 7/9/2004 4:45:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 49101    Sometimes I can't wait for it to start! And then sometimes I think, I should have gone sooner, I should just forget it! LOL My momis NOT going to let me "Forget It"!
