Yeah I heard about this, I heard it will lower our taxes by about 400 dollars and most of the slot machines will be in the poconos. I personally disagree with the desicion. I don't want hear turning into vegas. |

In CT, my home state, we have 2 huge casino's and from what I understand, the money coming from there helps out to state a whole bunch. I never really paid attention to that whole thing, I only know I have a nice place to go and have fun when I have the money to blow. |

Where I live, only the Indian (Native American) Reservations have slot machines & gambling. The ONLY exception, is we have gambling cruises, that go, what, 25 miles? out to sea, which is no longer Florida's Coast line, but "International" waters in the Gulf. |

Oh, back to the topic at hand, I don't think there's anything wrong with slot machines. At least your politicians are being up-front & honest about the whole thing. Besides, better the politicians, than the Mob. Oh, wait, scratch that..... |

Slot machines are good... if someone loses all there money thats there problem. But I dont know about the whole thing where they earn money from it... I dont think that is right. They should give that to some other cause, like a charity like building houses for people or something, yah know? |

Any form of gambling is another way to take money from those that need it most. IMO, it is hypocritical for politicians to claim they are concerned about the plight of the disadvantaged and yet vote for legalized gambling. Find out who supported for this legislation and vote them out of office. |

it's a mistake. Sure, they'll bring in extra revenue for a while, but pretty soon that'll get absorbed into public programs and people's pockets, or wherever the heck all our tax money goes to, and then what...more slot machines? Plus, it's not really generating economic growth-- it's just taking extra money from people who already live in the state. Usually the ones with gambling problems, so you're creating more social problems to boot. |

that is 1%, but where's the other $2.7 billion going? to businesses and working people for the economy. It's a great way to raise money for the state, and really, it's benefitting people overall....just my thoughts anyway. ~ter |
