Oh I'd complain for sure! I've never had braces myself, but I've had friends who have and they've NEVER had that problem....Perhaps it's because the tooth was bonded, but..that seems unlikely to me...then again I'm not an orthodontist....so I hope they can actually FIX the problem |

The funny thing is, the man who is supposed to be my orthodontist hasn't touched my teeth. He wasn't even there the day my braces were put on-- what am I paying him for? lol |

I have a temper and get frustrated with people who dont do thier jobs like they are supposed to. I personally would have already cursed him out. Not saying you should or its right to do that but good lord, all that money and they cant even keep the brackets from falling off? Thats insane. Id go somewhere else. |

I've already signed a contract and set up a payment plan, I don't think I CAN go anywhere else. lol The orthodontists there are supposed to be really good, I don't understand why this is happening. |

did you tell them that tooth was bonded before they did the braces... they would probally need a different adhesive for that tooth |

Boy, as much money as all that is costing, it needs to be done right. But, I wouldn't go at those people with a 'tude..I usually get the red carpet treatment at the dentist, when I try to make a joke out of it..not that's it's funny, but there have been more than one time, when I wasn't charged for something. |

Oh yeah I'd complain, if you don't mind me asking, what made you decide after all these years to get braces? Are they the 'invisible' kind? |

When I had my braced only once did one of my brackets pop off. I think either they arent using the right stuff, or you're right they flunked out of school. I never had any teeth that were bonded, so Im not sure if that plays a part in the adhesive they are using or not. *shakes head* Im sorry you are going through this. If it were me, I would see if I could find another orthodontist, because if they are screwing this up right now, what are they going to screw up in the future? I would be complaining so bad, its not funny, because you are paying them to do a job that they obviously either dont know what the heck they are doing, or they just dont care. Hope you get it fixed. |

I'd ask to talk to the office manager. Tell them that not only is it a huge inconvenience, but it shouldn't be happening in the first place. I'd also let her know that you are getting less than stellar customer service at the office. If all else fails maybe you can get the dental association or attorney general involved? I'm not sure who would be next on the chain of command. |

Ahh, you signed a contract with them.. Hmm, Maybe if the next appt. you get to Re-fix this again, you can demand to have the orthodontist, himself do the work. Because apparently his office staff isnt doing their jobs appropriately. Maybe if ya get him to do it, himself, then the bracket will stay in place from now on too, and the problem will be solved. I hated some of the nursing staff at my old orthodontist, most of them were severely rude, and half the time had to be told 3-4 times what to do. It was then that I complained and from then on my orthodontist was the only one I would allow to work on my teeth or braces. |

B Monkey-- I decided to get them now because although I had straight teeth all through my teen years, a few years ago a few of my teeth started to move. I think it was due to my wisdom teeth coming in. Anyways, I wanted to get the braces now before it gets any worse. As of now I only have to wear them 20-24 months. I got ceramic (clear) on top and regular ones on the bottom. |

Here's the thing about the bonding-- I know where the bonding stuff is at on my teeth, I can see when I look at my teeth with a black light. It's on the lower portion of the tooth, so I don't see how that could be a factor. I didn't even think to tell the orthodontist that yesterday. |

In that case, Im sure the bonded teeth dont factor into it. Either a shoddy adhesive job or the adhesive they used wasnt strong enough to hold. Really do hope you figure out whats wrong, though. |

With the money you are paying them you have every right to DEMAND quality service... Quality is NOT brackets popping off... If they dont fix it soon, then threaten to turn them in to the ADA... that may straighten them out... this is outrageous! |

As far as your contract, you having to live up to it is true, to an extent.. but more importantly THEY have to live up to it!!! You are PAYING them for their service, and if it is shoddy you have EVERY right to get your money back and start anew with a better Ortho. |

I'd definately complain, just for the fact of the rude stare alone. Shoot, YOu're paying them enough to shut up, smile, and do their job (I know that sounds snippy, but I've been in situations where people act snooty when they shoudln't) Tell them to fix it, or you'll report them to the board. They have boards they are licenced through just like Doctors and Psychologists. Go Whoop that Butt Like we know ya can ~*~Peace * Love~*~ |

I had braces a few years ago and when they were first put on I had brackets that popped off. It was from the pressure the wire and stuff was putting on them and that the bracket hadn't had time to complete cure to my teeth before the wire was put on. I went in the first couple times it happened to have them reattached and after that I just waited until my next routine monthly appt and would have them do it then. |

kriskris-- it's not good that they do that though, because how's it going to move the tooth if it keeps coming off? |

I know it wasn't good but I got tired of going in last minute. I think all total it popped off 4 times. I went in right away the first 2, and just waited until my routine appt for other 2 times. They finally decided to glop on the adhesive and it then stayed on the rest of the 2+ years. |

It might be because you had your teeth bonded . I had a bracket on my bottom insizer that poped off because I bit down too hard . I went in a day later and had it fixed . Do they pop of when you bite or talk ? If it is when you bite , you might want to ask them to use a little more glue . Thats what they did for me . But if it is popping off while you talk that means they don;t have enough on . I would most def. address the situation to the orthodontist . Hell him you're not happy with his work . You're paying to have your teeth fixed , not banged up !!!! |

I went in yesterday to get the bracket glued back on. They fixed it and I left. Five miles down the road it popped off AGAIN. I went back and they had to "roughin up" my tooth, reglue it, and put a new wire on-- it has stayed on so far. |

Nothing like this happened to me when I had braces. That sounds ridiculous, that shouldn't keep happening. Since you are paying them A LOT of money (braces ain't cheap I know) You have every right to complain to them. Your the boss |

my brother had braces and his back bracket fell off.. only because he was dumb and ate a piece of caramel. As far as them sticking to your teeth (if i understand correctly) you can put wax over the braces. They sell it at grocery stores and it's usually next to the toothpaste and dental floss. As far as your ortho, i would call, make an appointment and tell them you're the situation and that it's not fair you're paying thousands and a little metal thing is STILL popping off with no fault of your own. I have invisalign so I'm glad I don't have to go through that. Good luck |
