Time capsules and USM MEMORIES*DizzyME*

When I was in fifth grade, the school decided to make a time capsule. We all wrote a letter to be put inside it, and I believe we could also throw in something else to be remembered by. I don't rememver what I said in the letter or if I even put in some other object, but it will be interesting to get a call in 35 years or so when they open it. We also made a time capsule in 7th grade. Have you ever participated in something like that?

Following that train of thought, I came up with this discussion:

I was just wondering what it is that you will remember the people here for. If someday down the line you happen to think of the days when you wasted hours playing on the internet, what do you think will come to mind about each individual?

I also posted this on my site, so sorry for the deja vu for any of those members :P

Date: 6/27/2004 6:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    I will probably associate "Dizzy Me" with "Helen of Troy" and a good debate. Thinking back on the role that USM played in that period of my life: The site kept me "almost" sane.. Write on...
Date: 6/27/2004 6:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 62588    I will remember William Bain for being my first USM friend, and an awsome auther - he has been gone a long time. I will remember Banner and First Born for being strong in beliefs. I will remember Sur5er for awsome advice and for giving me silent strength when she didn't even know she was doing it. I will remember Release Me for being my first internet friend who didn't forget me when I wasn't there. I will remember Akua Tuta for helping me to heal old scars by sharing her new wounds. I will remember HayKory for being the first person in my LIFE who understood what I deal with with my nephew, even if it's someting we don't talk about much. I will remember "Got Bubbles" as a little smile that always popped up when I least expected it. I've left USM three times (not by my choice or that of USM but because of loosing my computer or internet for one reason or another) and I always long for it, like I long for the home I've grown up in. Even if no one here now knows me, you are all my friends and there is always someone here who chooses to say a kind word to me and help me through whatever misery life is throwing at me. I will remember all of you for that
Date: 6/27/2004 6:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 49091    When Princess Lizard, Mike Meyers, Rika, Luv Bug, and whoever else wanted to come, would throw a massive party post n just spend all night throwing eachother in the pool or just telling jokes. I always looked forwards to those. Cause then I knew the night would be filled with laughter and fun and most of the time it was...not including all the insults we threw at eachother, just for fun. LOL
Date: 6/27/2004 10:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    Being that I'm a sucker for drama, I'll probably remember more of the scandalous moments.. All of those people who were banned, and who was fighting with who and all of that crap.. But I'll also remember people for good things. When you've read someone's posts and replies for years you get a feel for their personality.. I'll remember a lot of USM'ers for their kindness.
Date: 6/27/2004 10:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    Hey Dizzy Me, we never did get to do that, it was "too stupid" but I wish that I had gathered up some people to do that anyways. I wonder what I would put in there???? hmmm
Date: 6/28/2004 2:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 53054    umm i dunno i have never really thought about it! I have my own little time capsule, which i tlook at time to time...its in my room in a wooden box, every few years i remember it, and i look through it! *hugz*
Date: 6/28/2004 7:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 53558    I remember make a time capsule at school, but I have no idea what became of it...hugs..
Date: 6/28/2004 7:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 59531    i will remember laughing with my darling LEMON, my best real and online friend. we've know each other for all our lives. and i will remember laughing and being witty with each other. me threating to tell USM about some escapade and her telling me im going to get banned. ahh yes the memorable comments.
Date: 6/30/2005 2:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    I never did any time capsules, I wish I had though. that would have been interesting to see later down the road. As for USM, I think I will remember many people here a long time from now, I will remember feeling welcomed here and all the fun times I had here.
