It doesn't get in the way of my tongue at all. It's basically just oversized. I'm afraid if I went to the doctor they'd tell me I need a tonsilectomy... something I don't really want to go through at all. Surgeries scare me. Not to mention, that would be VERY expensive! Thanks for replying.   |

I guess they probably wouldn't, but something had to have happened to enlarge it. For all I know there could be some sort of infection on the inside or possibly a type of cancer. What I have also thought of is that this might have caused the allergy asthma I now have. It has just been in the past few years that I get the asthma associated with allergies and tonsils can affect your breathing. Anyway, I'm sure you're right and it's nothing, just wish I could be sure. |

Go to the doctor. It could be Thyroid desease which is no big deal so long as it is treated...but with out treatment for a certian period of time it can be seriouse.

You probably have chronic tonsilitis and the enlargement could be an infection. Do you have other side affects such as headaches, coughing, nasal congestion? These things can become serious and do need medical attention.  |

Thanks Aromatics, I'm glad to hear that. I don't have any side effects You Choose, which is why I haven't made a point to spend the money and go to the doctor. And Humming Bird, I sure hope it's not that. Thanks for your replies everyone. |
