The Restless Mouse Company News Feed Stories, sagas, bits from all over my pathetic little world About that two-headed quarter! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 6th, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you wondering about a quarter you found in your change, with 2 heads?? (and no tails!) Read on, we get this question all the time; Is the two headed quarter legal tender? I have one and I thought it was a mistake by the mint. Now I'm wondering if it isn't manufactured in someone's basement. What's the deal? -Confused Oilrigger In Nebraska Well, C.O.I.N., These two headed quarters are made by an old novelty company back east, they've been doing it since the 1950's. The tipoff is that the sides will be from different years. They are careful to use 2 coins of the same condition, and finish the edges, so it's just about impossible to tell that it wasn't minted that way. Here's a link to buy one (or more) if anyone is intrigued by all this; Get your own Two Headed Quarter to win that toss! |
