Randomn acts of dumbness

I accidently took my boyfriend's keys before I left for work today. I didn't actually try to use the keys-- for some odd reason, I grabbed them as I was grabbing my wallet and my keys, and put them in my purse. I then got a call at work: "did you take my keys this morning?" "did I what?" "Just do me a favor and check your stuff." I picked up my purse and there was jingling of keys, even though my keys were sitting on the desk. (uh-oh) Fortunately, he had an extra set of car keys and house keys, but he needed something else on the keychain that I had absent-mindedly purloined, so I got to make a trip to his office over lunch time...

has anyone else done anything extremely stupid or silly lately? Please chime in!

Once it was cold out, and I walked outside to start my car about 10 minutes before leaving work. I started it, and then got worried about someone taking it - so I locked the doors as I got out! LOL
Date: 6/15/2004 7:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47218    oh, I've done that one myself! Fortunately, my roommate was in, so imagine my mortification in explaining to her why I was waking her up to get an extras set of keys. If there's anything worse than locking your keys in the car, it's locking them in while your car is running. Makes you look mighty silly.
Date: 6/15/2004 7:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 62753    I AM THE Worlds worst ! Lets see what I can recall.... I'm horrible about forgetting where I am going, and drive past the place I have been too a hundred times. DUH! HELLO MCFLY! Lizard-1
Date: 6/15/2004 7:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47218    yup, I do that sometimes, too. You get programmed to drive places-- your work, home-- so if you're going someplace new and, God forbid, your mind wanders off, then the programming kicks in and you drive past the place. The worst thing is when the place you intended to go to is miles back and you don't realize you've missed it until you're driving into your driveway.
Date: 6/15/2004 7:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 62744    My random act of dumbness (for the week) can be viewed here. http://www.myusm.com/usm384690.html. I'm too embarassed to even bring it up again. LOL. Take care. -Damon
Date: 6/15/2004 7:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I just moved to a new state about a week and a half ago., Today I was out doing job apps and got completely lost...got on the highway cause I had to due to construction and couldn't get off to turn around til the next town....then I had really NO clue how to get back....man I was peeved....
Date: 6/15/2004 7:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 22992    I walked into a stop sign last summer, i walked right into it when i was looking down at my phone becasue someone was calling me and WHAM.. have a scar still
Date: 6/15/2004 8:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 19460    this is really sad...i have lived in this town for 8 years now and i STILL get lost. All this town is pretty much is a stop sign and a gas station LOL I get going down one of the isde streets and have to think... OK mandy if you turn down this road where will you come out at? LMAO its truely sad!
Date: 6/15/2004 8:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 62100    LOL yep...a few weeks ago I walked right out of the apartment without our ONLY house key, and we live in an upstairs apartment!!! So, I called the landlord hoping he had an extra key, and he wasn't home- so, my daughter and I came home and we tried to hoist her to the roof which was unsuccessful (the plan being that she could walk across the roof to my bedroom window which was luckily open and lift the screen to get in)- we finally ended up borrowing a ladder from a neighbor and she climbed up that way and got us in. The really bad part is that I play with my daughter all the time pretending to have forgotten my keys- so up until I called the landlord she thought I was still playing!!
Date: 6/15/2004 10:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 19685    yep! I'm SUCH a ditz it's beyond funny anymore... i stopped at the mail house (i live in an apt so...) and some girl parked behind me. her car was the same color and the model of it looked a LOT like mine.. so i got my mail and was looking at it while i was walking to my car. as soon as i sat in the driver's seat i realize i was NOT in my car!! luckily, the driver was too busy looking at HER mail to notice what i had done and no one was outside *whew!* very humiliating though and i do tend to humiliate myself ALL the time!
Date: 6/16/2004 2:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 26363    I saw that title and thought of me! LOL On my first date with my last partner (phew) we had gone out scouting antique shops. The first one we left I went the car park to get in the car while she went to the toilet. When she got to the car park she just walked up to me and said 'What are you doing?'...I was totally in the wrong car! LOL Then the owner of the shop came out demanding to know what I was doing in his car! Talk about embarassing! All I could say was 'jees...doesn't anybody lock their cars anymore?!' ....and that was just the beginning of that day. MorningGlory
Date: 6/16/2004 2:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 11348    Well... I can't even begin to count how many times I've gone out to my car without any keys at all! And then yesterday I woke up and immediately started hitting my alarm clock, just trying to get that ringing to stop, until I eventually realized it was the phone. I am the queen of dumbness. And to add to what Shattered said, I once walked out of a store to find a lady piling her children into MY car.... she was very embarrassed!
Date: 6/16/2004 2:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 62146    once some peopel wanted to get on a bus and I did not give them the keys because i thought it was open. LOL boy did they laught
