There are men in the shadows,
People walk by them every day,
Look at them as if they are lazy,
And you walk on past as if nothing changed,
Have you ever stoped to talk to one of these men in the shadows?
I have, One day I asked a man why?
He said darling why what?
I said "why are you homeless"?
He got a tear in his eye and said,
One day i was called to duty,
I went to war,
I fought for everything i believed in,
I gave my life,
I came home,
To nothing,
I am a Veteran,
I fought for your mother and father's freedom,
I fought for your freedom,
I fought for your children's freedom,
And now im home in america where i have no freedom,
People pass me by everyday,
The look away as if i am not here,
I stopped him and i said,
I thank you for everything,
I thank you for my freedom,
You are my hero,
He said "I've waited 30 something years to hear a Thank You,
Thats all I ask of people is a thank you, and he smiled and walked away

( 1 out of 3 homeless ppl in america are Veterans, stop and help them) after all they did give there life for u, kk
