Nice poem Sish! I have to say though..While it may be in poor taste to speak ill of the dead, its also not right to put that person on a pedestal as though they never committed a sin in their lifetime. |

Total agreement with LL,why make someone a saint when in life they really had an evil side. |

Actually...this popped into my head after reading an artical about John Kennedy Jr...They were saying alot of bad stuff about him. To me although I didn`t know him personally...I think it is wrong of them to do this...especially after he has been dead for so long... |

Beautiful poem Kiki! I do not take kindly to any one speaking ill of the dead! It just shows no respect for those that cared, loved & was touched by someway of someone who has died. I feel respect is due to the person who has passed on as they can not be here to defend theirself. Also respecting the people who loved that person who has left this world. Everyone knows no one is perfect! Respecting is not putting that person on a pedestal! Jmho. |

Like Star*Two, I have memories of the dead that are not so pleasant..and to suddenly enduct them into Sainthood after death is desrespectful to those alive and still living with the memories of that person's faults while they were alive. |

Moon,no i'm not saying anything like that, but when my father died, they talked about how he raised a family, and did all these great things for his friends.when to this day my nose is broben when i was just a few years old,by my father, when my mom broke her leg and was in a cast,he got drunk one night and triped her, then stomped on her cast,so,as i stated no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. But when they spoke of him at the funeral, you'd have though he was a saint.I don't hate my father,as far as i'm concerned my grandfather who raised me and got me out of that siuation,is my father. |

I love your poem but I have to agree with LL and Star Two, I refuse to lie or idolize someone who was not what everyone is trying to make them out to be. If someone was cantankerous, loud and generally wasn't a nice person to others then I will not say what a saint they are. I can only offer the family condolences for THEIR loss not say that it hurts me. |
